I wish, though the fact I never complain about stuff might make her sit back and wonder. Our secreatary is hopeless but the boss is a bit afraid of her as she's taken grievance out on her before.LBM 03/07 £44k:eek: DFD 31/12/17 :A 12/17 £2545.50

Doing well with my challenges over £500 Olympic challenge and over £59 with change jar. Have started saving £1 (and £2 though don't get many) this week and will use that for whatever I need for brothers wedding next year (outfit, pressies etc).
Needed two tyres for car but got one of my blokey mates to help me out my ringing round for best prices (I always get conned). He came up trumps cause I got them fitted, balanced and tracking done as well as a rattling noise from underneath fixed for £130. Which is great as last time I got a tyre for car it £125 for one tyre! An even better plus point is I didn't use CC to pay for it! Things will be a bit tighter for the rest of month but have handed over debit card to mum so I can't squander money on non-essentials the next 2 weeks. Whilst my overdraft might not come down any this month it won't get any worse.

Thanks for updating Hope its always good to hear how you are doing.
Quite right you are feeling chuffed with yourself and so you should be :T0 -
So much for not spending on non-essentials this month after buying the tyres. Had a week off work last week and spent a fortune! My overdraft this month has rocketed down to -£850 just when I was doing really well. Pay day is Thursday and I'm really tightening my belt. My switch card had made its way from mum's purse back into mine but giving it back to her NOW NOW NOW!
Going to try half the overdraft this month. Which will get me back on track. Going to divert my challenge funds (what I make in November) into this my main account to try help and about to transfer the £30 in my saving account into it too. Have just copied down everything I've spent into a notebook and will use it to inspire me to keep a tight rein in November.
Seriously kicking ymself for being so stupid, tough thing is November is a 5 week month for me so need to be extra good.
Cheers
Hope x

Hi Hope sounds like you've had a bit of a 'blip'. Never mind eh, sounds like your back on track and going to get it sorted ASAP so thats the main thing.
I noticed from you signature that next year in July you will be nearly £100 better off then in by Nov next year you wil be anoth £150 better off.
If you decide to put that towards your debt and look on the snow ball calculator you will see that it bring your debt free date drastically forward. Sounds that should be a big motivation to keep sparing you on.
I know next year probably seems a long time away but just think how quickly this year has gone.
How do you go on with the second CC application?0 -
Hi Mae
I didn't make a second CC application yet thought if maybe I left it a few months then I'd stand a better chance of being accepted.
Next November doesn't sound too far as I'm already willing the time away until I've crossed those debts off my list. My plan is that these payments will be added to my highest % CC to significantly increase my monthly payment as at the moment I'm only overpaying it by a few pounds but in my mind that's better than nothing.
Last night I bagged up some of my jamjar money and set it aside for the 'blip' account but alas today my mum put it in my other account was a bit annoyed but I guess looking at the bigger picture I'm closer to clearing that overdraft which has been halved since last night from £62.48 to £32.48! So reverting to plan A and ploughing my challenge savings into the smaller overdraft as it should be non-existent by end of Nov! If I can scrape together stuff for car booty this weekend then that'll be even quicker!

Decided to start applying for promotion in fact I'm just having a break from the application forms now. A lot of posts advertised within my local authority (I'm a teacher) this week so going to apply for those which are commutable (spent 7 years in a job with horrrendous commute and don't fancy doing it again). If I'm successful in gaining a new post it'll mean a pay rise of approximately £3000 (before deductions) which will help with my debt free wannabe adventure!LBM 03/07 £44k:eek: DFD 31/12/17 :A 12/17 £2545.50

:j I am absolutely on top of the world! :jOne overdraft gone one to go!Today I paid my olympic challenge earnings from last week into my small overdraft and it is now +£2.52. Feels liberating! I have cancelled the overdraft on it and my plan is to stash any challenge money away in there as a way of starting to save towards the big bills for next year e.g. car insurance, road tax, brother's wedding. I wanted to clear it by the end of November so I'm 2 weeks ahead of scehdule.
Cheers
