How many people now carry scissors in their bags for going to T's?

My mum's started making use of price flops. Today she took the booklet to the SA and asked her to cut them out for her and then put a request in the suggestion box to make the coupons perferrated. (I think she's getting tiered of tearing through the barcodes) :D

    Added because of the edit.

The total contract cost is about £430.

You can pick up a good quality 2nd hand Iphone 4S or Samsung S2 for about £250 and with the giffgaff SIM above get better data allocation and pay less.

    £250 (phone) + £120 (giffgaff £10 PM) = £370 saving about £50.

I've even seen Samsung S2 phones go for £190 and as the new S3 has just been launched prices are dropping.

    edit added

What part of the country are you in?

Thanks for the info. again GlitchHunter...just wish you typed in pirate speak. :D

I've also factored in the cashback for the contract. I'm getting a guaranteed £75 cheque sent to me (barclays student offer and it's mentioned in my confirmation email) and i'm 90% sure that I'm getting £50 cashback via Quidco/Phones4U.

I'm also going to ring Phones4U when my phone arrives and state that I'm thinking of leaving because of the deal you've mentioned. Because it's still within 14 days of my contract, I have the right to cancel...but of course, Phones4U will want to keep me as their contract customer; so they will offer me £36 off my next bill (this is highly likely, as people have done this over on HUKD).

So I'm calculating my contract as:

    £36 x 12 = £432
    £432 - £75 - £50 - £36 = £271.

I know that cashback isn't guaranteed, but I think I've got a decent chance of getting it.

I also have the peace of mind that my phone is under Apple's standard 12 months warranty, whereas this can't be guaranteed when buying a 2nd hand phone.

But I really appreciate your advice GH and I'll have your info. up my sleeve when I ring Phones4U. :D

    The thing is.....

You may not watch youtube vids, but you might find yourself using at as your music player, or listening to the radio, or watching the BBC news when you're on lateshift, or using it for facebook/twitter, or navigation when you suddenly find yourself lost etc, etc, etc....

The whole thing about a smart phone is you'll find quite a few useful APPS and it's these that will chew data, the network boys know this which is why they offer these 'low' priced plans as a surprisingly high number of people get caught out and end up paying more.

Giffgaff save money because they spend no money on marketing, it's all word of mouth.

In total I have 3 phones and 2 tablets on GG sims, all GG to GG calls are free and don't count towards your monthly usage, freephone number are really free, 0845 numbers are not premium charged.....In one month I used 9GB on one of the tablets and GG didn't make any issue of it.

Ah OK...I see your point re: apps using a lot of data. :) Just a quick question, if I'm at home where we have wifi, will my phone use the wifi for internet/data download or will it use mobile interent? :o Also, we have wifi across the hospital I work at, so I guess I could use that instead of the mobile internet?

I think what I'll do is use the 500MB only when I really need to. Like when in an emergency situation...maybe checking for info. on a glitch whilst I'm in Tesco? :rotfl:

Me!!! I packed a pair of scissors last weekend, I was cutting out price flop coupons in the loo as I forgot to take them with me and I had to improvise when I found some booklets instore!

And I take a pair of tweezers and a trolley token for my extreme wombling activities, lol anyone would think I work for CSI the amount of kit I take with me!

I always carry scissors in my bag. I also have all my vouchers in a small photo album thing. Not as good as the Couponers on Extreme Couponers on Discovery though!! They all have massive photo albums crammed full.
