Same name and number given to me!
Is it worth going to the police? Or report elsewhere?0 -
OMG I cant believe! It has to stop. We lost 6000 in August.
We bought the car on gumtree - Vauxhall Insignia Sri Nav 160Cdti.
Seller email - waky77@live.com. Chap called Adam, working in Northen Ireland, who was willing to bring the car to us.
We used London Cars pay webside, as it seems to be so ok. I still cant belive we were so stupid and sent the money to him. we used acc.no 439 58760
S Giurca . 209179
Barcelys
Money has been sent on Friday, and Adam said he will deliver the car on Wednesday, so he had a time to withrow the money and run away. No car has been delivered, of course. I was sure, someting is going on, so I informed a gumtree on Tuesday evening, and they checked the email - which I suppose to received from ,, them,, . They told me in a minute, that its a scam. I was so shock! and I was so sure, than we lost the money. Car has been removed immediately from the webside.
So, the next day, we visited the bank, and they werent really helpful :{ , but they admited, that the account is not correct, as they are some strange transaction. We went to police, and OMG they didnt help us at all, as they said, its a online fraud, we can do anything till the Civil Dispute company will contact us for help.
So we contacted the Civil Dispute no - 03001232040, and wrote a report. We have received a ref. no.
It has been a few weeks, and nothing seems to be sorted out.
I wish we could catch this fuc...s !0 -

It must be gang working as I also got a text from gum tree advising me to use these brokers and initially I thought that was good and the it occurred to me that gum tree do not have my phone number, only this Adam guy. I. Can not understand why this guy can not be traced, caught and quartered in this day of technology!
Thank god I stumbled on this forum before sending the money as I was seriously considering it! I am so sorry for the people that have suffered at this B*****d hands.0 -
He was selling a Lexus rx300, registration no GY55 KZX, from Richmond area. In fact it is still on gum tree!

These guys go under various names, but the car scam is still the same, we lost over £7k 3 months ago and the police are not even investigating, so dont waste your time. i have spent hours on the phone to them.
The only way to approach this is to have proof that Barclays failed in there care of Duty. We have even had out Local MP on the case, and we are collecting information to go to court.
It seams that anyone can open an account at a certain Barclays Branch these days, Do they realise how many scams are opperating through this one Branch, we counted at least 200
