This Adam pawlak guy is on Ebay too. I nearlly brought a Toyota Prius from him. Before the auction ended I emailed him stating that I needed 10 days to transfer the money from my savings account into my paypal and he said it would be ok.
Then on day 6 after the close he demanded I send the money ASAP, I said he will have to wait till day 10 as agreed.
He then reported me to ebay for non payment and they took his side. To stop ebay taking the money I disconnected my credit card and bank details from Paypal and closed down the Paypal account. I also changed my ebay account information to an old address, which no longer exists. There is no way I'm getting scammed £5k for a car that doesn't even exist.
It's been over a month now and I haven't heard anything back from ebay, the auction dispute is now set to resolved and the car has since been relisted.
Best bet for used Prius's is the Toyota dealer, you might have to pay £7k but at least it'll all be serviced.0 -
Can't believe it, I have been scammed as well to the tune of nearly£8000 am so sad and feel so stupid.
Same guy by the sound of it Adam ,email address micha76@hotmail.com.
Same story , moved to Belfast , working in construction etcetc. We were told to pay money to Londoncarspay.com. Website looked genuine and we even contacted Companies House to check it out against the id number. Don't know what to do am heartbroken as all our savings now gone! Have contacted the police, fraud squad etc.We paid our money into a Barclays Bank account sort code 209263. Having looked into this branch it seems a lot of scams are happening through it , including visa and lottery scams. Hopefully the police will have picked up on this as it only took me minutes to find out. Any suggestions of what to do now. Am at my wits end!!!0 -
SM3 sorry you got caught out by this. When checking companies websites use a service such as domaintools.com and do a who is. Look at who registered it and when.
As you payed the money into an actual bank account you are in abetter position than most as this is at least tracable to the account, although probably a mule account so your money maybe recoverable. As you have reported this to the police you have gone as far as you can for now.
Seen as Londoncarspay.com is now on hold (suspended) you are not the only people to have been caught out by this.
See my other posts in this thread for places to visit for support etc. and please learn from this and help inform others.0 -
How do I go about getting my money back?0

Facebook Barclays bank supports internet fraud maybe good thing for us all to comment on. The more of us that have a claim against Barclays for negligence in monitoring their accounts the better placed we all are!0

Reported fraud to Strathclyde Police who were able to tell me that they had traced this c*nt and had loads of intelligence and had placed this on the UK national Police ComputerSystem. They informed however that as the fraud technically happened in the Metropolitan Police area I had to contact them, report the crime, give them a national crime reference and ask them to go on to to the UK National Computer to get the intel that they had required. On doing so I was contacted by the Metroploitan Police with all this and they told me that as the bank account that I had transferred the money to was BARCLAYs in Leicester I had to take up the matter with the police authority for Leicestershire.
No wonder this guy is continuing to defraud people with impunity.
However the common denominator is Barclays Bank. I have written twice to their Customer Complaints dept with no reply.
Does anyone have an address that I can at least get a reply from.0 -
Can we contact you somehow , we are in the same position as you and have reported to all the people you have .0

Looks like this is never going to end. So frustrating. Lost all hope of ever seeing any of my £6000 again.
I think its shocking how when one scam site shuts a new one opens straight away.
I'd rather have been mugged in the street.
Scum, simple as that!0
