First spends of the month and some expensive stuff needed buying. Replacement toothbrushes for DH and DS and bin bags to fit the 50L brabantia bin - I thought I was buying the bin again it was so expensive!

Also bought some lovely FR chicken breasts that are large and skinless. Almost nothing left on YS by the time I got there and it was like the advert with the streetlights as the store lights dimmed as we walked round, but they are so polite they don't actually ask you to leave - they just wait. Well it is Wait-flower

Sig up to date and includes several expensive transfers from 2nd purse which are accounted for at full price. Also the local QD Stores has T&L sugar for 87p a bag so I bought 4 - I prefer T&L because it is made from cane not sugar beet and metabolises better. If time allows I will make some jam (still got a freezer full of fruit from last summer) for the village to sell next week-end (we have open gardens - must be mad :eek:) - the grass is so long and weeds are everywhere. No illusion of control this year then!:rotfl:

Hope the weather improves I need to get going

    All the best

Mince - I would freeze in portions - no stress then - choose what to cook with it later.

    NSD today.
We had barbecue chicken drumstick with peas/rice and side salad - celery, onion, red cabbage & tomatoes for dinner. ( Mr F had 2 pieces of chicken - 1 is enough for me. )

Talking of granola- i am loathe to admit it, but i LOVE LOVE LOVE Jordans Crunchy oat granola, but its sooo expensive!!!
Does anyone have any brands/ideas for alternatives please?

Our whole family love granola! It lasts about 2 days in our house! Anyway, our favourite is Tesco's Crunchy Oat Crisp (sultana, honey & coconut). It comes in 2 flavours & the one we like is in a purple bag. £1.55 for 1kg.

  • Making a Cottage Pie for dinner today.

I do love to spend my Sunday's pottering in the kitchen but there's no room in the freezer for me to get any batch cooking done! Instead I think I will attack the 2 mountains I have growing (the ironing one & the 'to sell on eBay one')!

Should be a NSD unless I nip to the farm shop to get some mushrooms for the cottage pie. Have a good Sunday everyone :)

    Thanks MO1972.
I will keep an eye out for it. I have a few bags of Jordans to eat up first, and could get some nuts and bits to add to the Mr T one :)

I have spent £76.17 so far. That has included a few silly spends during the week.
    Well done to everyone else.

    Morning all!

Having spag bol for dinner this evening, got some dolmio (EEK!) on half price at morries. I dont normally buy dolmio, i make my own spag bol sauce, but i really need to get loads of exam revision done today, so it'll be quick and easy.

    Have a great day everyone!
