I LOVE Portmerion too:T
I only have one piece though. It is a cheese plate and cover that I got FREE from Freecycle:j. It is worth a bit secondhand too (around £35 on eBay) but I wouldn't part with it as it is used for my most special cakes!!!! (Looks like a cake plate and cover)

Sorry forgot to say, i have a fairly large collection of the holly and ivy range portemerion did (dont know if they still do). I picked most of mine up from TK Max they also did a lovely selection of the spode christmas china, i have got a bit of that also. Rude not to really if you can buy it cheap. if you ever get a chance to visit the village the do so, its a great day out. They also have a factory shop by the village and you can pick up some bargains there also.Grocery Challenge 24th Feb-28 Dec 2012 £2000/£1404

This is the Fruit Lidl Luxury Granola - in my branch they are in mixed brown boxes and the shop dont take them out, so they are easily missed if you are in a hurry! HTH0

Not bad for a free piece of ware, eh?!

Can I take part? I'm looking to seriously cut down my food budget so going to try for £75 for the rest of this month. My biggest downfall is lunches at work so any pointers on how to motivate yourself to make lunch the morning/night before would be greatly appreciated!0

Thanks Fozzie, i really appreciate it
I will be looking out for that one in next weeks food shop.
Thanks again.0 -
Wow JJ - they look terrific - well done!
I have spent almost £26 of my budget today but it did include a fruit cake for a friend, tin foil and freezer bags, etc. and I did get a lot for my food money. As all the stores are within a square mile in my local town, I do shop around even just for me. Asda, for instance, have four mini advocados for £1 and these are ideal for me. Aldi had the rhubarb offer (cheaper than car boot price at present!) and the lowest priced milk in the area. Lidl had half price biscuits for cheese and a few other items I needed.
The difference in pricing just between the two discounters was quite marked. One week it is one store for the cheap grapes, and the next the other. If you haven't got the time to shop around, or the stores aren't close together, then you just have to guess which will be best for you and hope it will be swings and roundabouts but if the price difference per item is 20 or 30p, it would very soon be evident in a family shop. I had to force myself to put back some reduced items of chicken today - I have plenty in the freezer and MUST run it down for moving later in the summer. "Do I really need this?" has become my oft-repeated question to myself. Strawberries were on offer today but I decided against them as they looked a little less than fully ripe and there'll be plenty more where they came from - the polytunnels!
Also managed the car boot sale without a purchase other than the cake at the hospice stall.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14
