Cleggie I would keep totalling up so that you don't just think it's blown and go spend even more.
Least then you will know how much you have went over and can lookto pull it back over the quarter maybe?£36/£240

Another NSD yesterday and hoping for one today too, mainly because I feel too poorly to go out or even actually to eat. So perhaps that doesnt count.
DH has a tutorial tonight and drinks after but he is driving so that should be a cheap drink.0 -
EPIC FAIL this month
Grrr.
Unsure if i should carry on keeping a running total this month, to make sure that i dont totally go OTT, or just forget it till June.
Keep counting it doesnt mean you have failed. Sometimes you need to spend more than you intend to, it makes you realise how much you can save. (Hope that makes sense, i know what i am trying to say)Grocery Challenge 24th Feb-28 Dec 2012 £2000/£1404

Hey, just popping in quickly to update my signature with the weekends shopping and fish and chip treat! Total of £42 so not too bad. All I have to buy for the rest of the month is fresh fruit and veg and I have £15 left to do it. My actual budget is £350, but I'm trying to only spend £200 this month so it's not a disaster if I go over, but I really want to prove it can be done (and save a bit of money for the holiday)!0

Bon Marche for new Sloggis for me but 3rd Purse paid :T
Wilkos £4.16 which was really SP spending but I got
confuzzled
Greggs 85p for sausage roll for DGS who was VERY good while we kept queuing in shops.
99p Store - 99p for milk
Savers £11.98 on perfumes for DD's and 3rd Purse paid for that too :T
Boots £3.25 on Palmers solid cocoa butter but Boots points

Signature updated.
Breakfast was Weetabix.
Lunch is HM bacon and cheese puff from freezer.
Tea was going to be some sort of pork and pasta creation with YS pork chops from freezer but that will leave LO's and freezer is full, so it might end up being pork chops, veg and pots which will all get eaten in one go.
2 lines of washing on the line AND sun shining here0 -
French onion soup is a success!
It will now be a thrifty recipe that I keep turning to from now on.
Oh joy:
I put a ciabatta crouton or two in the bowl before ladling in the soup. It floated to the top then I topped with cheese and grilled.
It was a really hearty and comforting meal.
I am so doing this if a group of friends come back mine after a walk etc, which often happens. Better than bacon butties or oatcakes!:A Every moment is a gift. That's why we call it the present.!:A

Wow craigyv! Slightly jealous about that amazing haul. My YS 'bargains are generally 10 - 25% off, if I'm very lucky I may get 50%.
cleggie - I would also stick with it - you'll probably find you claw back the money in another month.
Leftover chicken and couscous from last night for lunch, and Chinese chicken with peppers and a cashew and coriander rice for dinner tonight.

Before I did this challenge last summer I had no idea how much I was really spending on groceries. The reality was we were spending more than double what we thought. I did reduce the spending on Groceries, but at the time I did discover than we needed to allow more money in our grocery budget."Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence."Weight loss challenge:j: week 1~ Napoleon Bonaparte
