you do not need to be connected to the phone line to get your card activated, after you have registered your card with sky and given them your digi box details, they usually say that it will be connected within a couple of hours via sat, they just send a signal via sat to your digi box, so all you need to do is make sure your card is in the box and its switched on , thats all

this just means literally it can't dial out for some reason, i had that a year ago and it was a dodgy extension cable, its defo nothing to do with sky or this offer, just a techical hitch with the wiring on the cable/phone

i was just being a thick stick had the wrong thing plugged in changed it over and now all my channels are up and running

well my card arrived.

rang up and activated it - and that was done within 15 mins. So i now have movies.

rang to cancel old sub and give 30 days notice (and did check and say, this is just the 4 mixes, new card is 4 mixes plus movies)

worse comes to worse i am on new contract at same price as old one (well £18 more as i have movies) (plus paying for 1 month for both contracts)

but i think it all went fine.

Does Anybody know if you can change your contact phone number online (ie to get one of their broadband packages) once you've had the new card activated?

yep but if you ring a couple more times you'll get somebody who isn't quite 'on-the-ball'

they keep asking me did i have the free trial through out feb do i say yes or no?
