No problem at all, putting a smile on someones face gives me far more satisfaction than rooting out dishonest honesty :rotfl:

Hope tomorrows a far better day ;)

Rooting out dishonest honesty? where have I been dishonest?
I rang sky as I have stated in my posts and said it was disgusting that loyal customers are not being treated fair!!
Have you got a job yet?

    NO? Then :shhh:

When people have a pop at me I will not just stand there and take it. You again have had a little dig and hide behind your monitor.

    back on topic

Noticed earlier someone mentioned that they had rung to activate and told they would be charged full price not half price when asked. (obviously different phone number so maybe thats why as normal sky CS havnt access to the offer )

Has anyone else checked this out ?????

If not Ill call tomorrow and check it as my card came through with a leaflet showing full prices, and no letter confirming half price offer.

Got to go - gotta take my daughter to school in 10minutes - shes going on a trip to france - Theyve told the kids they dont want them to go to sleep on bus down to Dover - personnally Id love a group of 40+ teenages to sleep the whole journey.
Thanks to everyone who posts comps :T

I've had SKY for many years paying for all the mixes, Sports and Movies. I recently subscribed to SKY Talk and Broadband too. I'm under contract now with BB til Jan next year and so couldn't cancel TV since I would lose the BB contract I signed up to.

It's quite clear that any legitimate SKY offer they put out there will spread quickly and SKY knows people will use the system to save money. They might be getting tetchy now because of the sheer number but they know there are far more new customers likely to come to SKY when such offers get out there than those able or willing to cancel and then try their luck with this deal.

In my opinion, if you wish to try the deal, that's your choice and it's not for me to say you're right or wrong. Do all these loyal customers who cancel and become "new" customers change my price per month? Maybe, maybe not. I can't assume that's the case since SKY has increased in prices no matter the offers, no matter the programming, no matter the fact their customer service is polite but continues to be totally ill equipped to deal with many issues (this has been admitted to me by email by Customer Relations, I'm not just being overly mean!)

Is it the people using this deal who force SKY into having 0870 numbers that they put you on hold for 15-45 minutes a time before someone answers and has you on hold for another 45 trying to get someone to be "willing" to take your call. This has been my experience. Am I wrong to get round their 0870 by finding out the freephone number to their call centre? I don't think so - I used their freephone number which they don't advertise about 15 times because of issues they caused - but they would have had me pay for those calls.

I do have a problem but it's with SKY not the people here. If they've tied in a bunch of people at £43.50 and a few weeks later others can get the exact deal for half that, who should the £43.50-paying person be mad at? SKY! I was misinformed I couldn't have their main packages for Broadband because the exchange wasn't enabled and went on Connect at £40 activation and £17 per month. I later found out it had been enabled and within days of my activation they were offering Connect at £20 activation and £5 a month! How unfair! They refunded me £20 activation and I am supposed to be on £5 Connect although they still bill me at £17. I shall use the Customer Relations email to claim my money back anyway since it states I will be charged £5.

Many of the people cancelling and then joining with the deal are, by default, loyal customers. If anything, they have already given money to SKY over a longer period of time and they should be the ones being treated well. It's not a massively immoral act to cancel and rejoin... in fact it reminds me of SKY Talk. You use the phone for 59 minutes 59 seconds for free, hang up and dial out again!

If you're a new customer nowadays it means much more than being a loyal one who, in my opinion, are punished for standing by their company beyond 12 months. There's no incentive to be loyal, just to be new! And the only way to be new is to leave and come back.

SKY will do anything to conquer the TV/BB/Phone markets - my experience of their customer service has been so bad, I now only write to James Murdoch's office because I have had months of problems with their billing, their mis-selling and misinformation, them altering my packages without consent, them taking away channels I'm paying for etcetc. All this at a time when new customers get everything for half price in compaison to me. But it's not the average person's fault.

I'm mad at SKY and I direct my complaints to them. Their customer relations tell me they've failed me and that I am a valued customer and I point out their treatment of me and the fact they make prices low for everyone other than loyal customers like me who have been suffering dreadful treatment says otherwise.

Good luck to you if you are now paying less than before.

I don't know why you're having a pop at me!!! I did ring sky because I got the leaflet and I actually QUALIFIED for this offer, if you don't then just accept it, but I did give them all the right details...telephone number, house number, etc... I only posted on this thread because people seemed to think the deal was dead.
I would appreciate it if you go after the people slagging you off and not the ones trying to help the post!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    heres what i did

    1. phoned to check what i was paying said i didnt check statements, acted all suprised said thought i was on half price. Said oh never mind its too expensive to get sky + in i think ill cancell my sports to save money.

    2. got put through to some channel advisor or something repeated process said that i didnt really watch much it was for OH but she could do with out, as it was a waste of money and sky + was just way too expensive

3.Then as he was giving the spiel i said i think ill just cancel the lot as its not worth my effort and money, can i cancel the lot thanks.

4 Transfered to cancellations and repeated the same things very nonchalently (No idea how to spell)want sky plus.... thought was on half price....dont watch it...... too expensive...... cancel it all

    5. he asked me to hang oncame back with we can give you sky+ for 50 quid said i was interested but it would still be expensive with instalation etc and if i got rid of sky sports would be another 10 pounds amonth so said i think just cancel it anyways

6 he then said ill see what i can do

    result

    sky+ 49 pounds (80gb model)
    free instalation
6 mix and sky sports half price 6 months
    no 10 month fee

he thenas he was taking my details said do you watch movies i said now and then mainly box office he has given us movies free for 3 months
