Ive just rung sky - in answer to my own question late yesterday, just so others know -
I have been given the offer £18 movies & 4 mixes no problem.
mentioned that the info Id been sent was a contract and viewing card letter and I was just checking as prices on the contract stated the full price.
Also said sky will send a letter within 2 weeks of direct debit beening taken from account. stating date & amount to be taken.
Very nice lady they dont seem too busy at moment - answered within secondsThanks to everyone who posts comps :T0 -
When you've hung up, plug the box into the phone and do the above which will do a 'callback' and register the card with your box
Your old subscription will just run out in two weeks[/QUOTE]
i was told i do not need to plug my phone into my sky box and still i have the 50% off, :rotfl:0 -

you can activate the card with the box serial instead but that might get the sky operators looking where they needn't........
as for the phone line, you can unplug it straight away afterwards, like you say, there's no need to have it plugged in0 -

I am very very rarely judgemental but i refuse to continue communicating with somebody who i think is very bitter, if not twisted, about life in general and so, as several other MSEr’s have already done so, i am no longer going to continue dialogue, i wish you all the best.
Back to the subject
I must admit that every time I phoned the correct number on this thread I got through to a human within 5 seconds every time, but then again it was a special offer/sales line. The rest of the points I totally agree with you and as a previous loyal subscriber to the Sky monopoly (in my area) i have no problems taking up their offer and wish everyone else similar success. The offer is still open, just make sure you’ve read the posts at the start of the thread to realise what information you’ll need to hand to qualify
If you are going to cast slander about me have the balls to back it upHave you got a job yet?
NO? Then :shhh:0 -
What's best number to ring at the moment, in terms of getting through quick and friendly staff who know what they are talking about.0

If I cancelled my sky today (30 days notice), would I have to wait until 7 April to activate the new card. If so, would the card still be eligible??0

I have been highly entertained by wellymudbed i hesitate to say this but i have just got my card and checked package also activated sky plus all good. iI rang 7 times untill sorted but i was a cancelled sub.
The other interesting thing i did which might be of use to others is i bought a freesat card on my 3rd call and that could have registered me for the offer (small price to pay) Good Luck everybody

I just tried calling, spoke to John but he wouldn't give me the offer because he couldn't find me on their Freesat system. I'll try calling again later.
I currently just have the free channels on an old digibox and I haven't subscribed at my present address.0 -
