    Right my card has arrived..
At the moment I have sky but only pay for sky plus £10 a month as out of contract and didnt fancy paying for other channels..so what next?
When i rang up i gave my work number.
Do i need to cancel my sky + first then ring the actvation line and just give them all the correct details?

    Thanks in advance!

well ive bit the bullet an rung up after reading another thread..

shes couldnt activate the sky plus, so she said it could be down to it not being connected to a fone line, she asked her team leader he said its part of the terms an conditions i have to have the phone line connected to get the deal so ive left that for now until someone can confirm.. i just said i'll have to buy an extension cable..

so shall i cancel my normal sky+ subscription now amd then connect it up then ring back and ask them to activate the sky+?

Some existing customers on this thread are reporting getting offered a 6 month deal at half price. Can any of them elaborate - did you get 6 months on your existing deal or 6 months on a new card deal?

I tried this and SKY advised they were checking all applicants against their database and were taking steps to "close" customer accounts who had obtained offer "illegaly"

"Taking steps" sounds like corporate speak for "we know we have been shafted by a website"

I ditched SKY programmes last year but the good lady likes SKY+ and it is very convenient so I pay £10 a month to record the stuff we want to watch from normal telly and download the rest from reliable and legal websites (!) examples being 24 and Lost.

I do detest everything that SKY stand for and find myself in the pub watching my beloved reds these days. I appreciate it may well be a futile hope but please let them disappear up their own backsides.

they activated my sky + without being connected to the phoneline,i asked the lady who activated my card ...she took card number, box serial number it took 5 mins and all was working, its shouldnt be in the terms and conditions that it has to be connected as its your equipment.
the only difference is you have sky plus already where as mine was cancelled but i dont see a difference:confused:

I tried 3 times to get just the Sky+ subscription and all three different people told me that they were not able to do that and I HAD to have at least 2 mixes, how did you manage it?

It'll cost you £10.50 a month, anyone can have it, you just need a more substancial package to get it free..........

I had 2 mixes plus SKY+ which I was paying £25 a month for (!) so I phoned up and tried to get an offer but they were having none of it (this was november time) so I said for them to cancel it altogether and they offerred to leave SKY+ on which I agreed to.
    Hope that helps.

I rang once last week and following the advice on here got them to send me the full package 1/2 price for 12 months. I've now activated my card and have just cancelled my old contract first downgrading it to just 2 mixes.

    Thanks.
