they activated my sky + without being connected to the phoneline,i asked the lady who activated my card ...she took card number, box serial number it took 5 mins and all was working, its shouldnt be in the terms and conditions that it has to be connected as its your equipment.
the only difference is you have sky plus already where as mine was cancelled but i dont see a difference
Think it must be down to the fact that my sky+ is active on my other card and you probably cant have it on two cards for the same machine??0 -
well another update got my direct debit letter today,it states £18 will be taken for first payment for subs for 5th march to 4th april..then 36 every month thereafter (excluding offers or discounts) so im guessing that if your first month fee is correct then your followin payments will be reduced also but if your first payment states the full price then maybe you are not so lucky, fingers crossed \o/
I got the same letter, but if you look closely is states that the amount quoted for future direct debits excludes any offers. I called Sky and was told that it is definitely half price for a year.0 -
same letter for me too, I had already rung and checked I was on the offer before my letter arrived. just keep an eye on the Direct Debit amounts out of your bank. Thanks to everyone who posts comps :T0
-
called today quoting the offer, said it was valid only for the people to whom they have send the leaflets. took my post code and checked it in their computer and said they have not send leaflets to my post code and I am not eligible for the offer. Also said I can offer me a 6 month half-price offer on a 12 month contract.Remind people that profit is the difference between revenue and expense. This makes you look smart0

Hi
We are hoping to move from London to Chesterfield at the beginning of May. I am taking the chance to try to reduce all of our costs. We have the full Sky package and sky+. We would take out Kids channels and Music channels, but don;t think that will make alot of difference to the price. How could we do this to make a substantial difference? Would we be eligable for any special deals?
What would you do?
Thanks

Hi,
I phoned up to get this deal on Saturday and managed to get 6 Mix +Sky Sports for 18.50 and I am now waiting for my card to arrive (will probably come Tuesday).
My original contract had finished ages ago and I was currently not subscribed to any of the channels just had free sky at home.
However, I am having doubts on whether I want a 12 month contract or not.
I only just want sky sports for a month or 2 to watch the world cup and don't really want it after that.
Do you think I can still cancel and I could get half-price for maybe 2-3 months instead.
Thank You0 -

Are you the person that has their cake and eats it? Just enjoy friend you got a deal you were NOT entitled too.
A 12 month contract is a 12 month contract you can by all means try it but dont push your luck!!!0 -
Sharp little girlie asked me if I'd had the free trial in Feb..said I didn't know as I was abroad from mid-Jan until the other day..she then asked me if I'd had a letter offering me the Feb. deal..I said I had a load of mail still to go through still as I'd just come back to Uk after 2 months. She asked me for my postcode ( I thought 'umm)..gave her it..she said I'd not been one of the 100,000 freesat people chosen for the deal/letter (I had a Sly sub for years and cancelled it about 6 months ago). I said.."but I have this card and was a subscriber and am therefore a freesat custonmer "..she said yes and your turn will come for the half-price offer!...I said "can I put my name down for the deal!"..she said "no but they'll get round to you soon"..!!!? Any advice .. I only want Sky One and the Food chanels so its the 2 packages for £7.50 I was after.0

am currently a freesat user as went onto this when we cancelled sky about a 18 months back. rang this afternoon & initially got told that the deal wasn't for people who used to be on Sky & it was aimed at people who had paid £150 for the full freesat setup. The girl also commented that people were ringing up for the deal but weren't being truthful about where they actually lived!!!
Anyway she checked with her boss & said I could have the deal - yippee!!!!!!
So now we have the full package for £21.75 for 12 months & as I gave her my current freesat card number I was upgraded within less than an hour of the phone call
Now a very happy bunny.........................0 -

People would bite your hand off for this deal but if you really don't want the whole 12 months then everyone who 'didn't qualify' for the 12month freesat deal has been offered 6months at half price by Sky, this will probably suit you better. Once you activate the 12month card you're in a contract so decide before you ring to activate;)0
