yep... just cancelled it on my old card yesterday as used to pay £10 a month and just record the free channels.

They have tried twice now... 1st time she said you need your fone line contacted and 2nd time she said it can take up to 4 hours.. 24 hours now passed and nothing.

The only difference this time is ive used my work number not home number for the account setup!
  • Just call there now and managed to get the 12 months half price deal. Didnt ask me for ANY details regarding my previous account (which has been closed for near 2 years) and set up a new one for me and said a new card would be with me in a few days time.

Really! what if I needed a full install would mates rates apply? as they did at beginning of this thread? What if my surname was BRANSON? is THAT iliegal or do they need some form of viewing card reference/account hook?

Then again maybe they can't decide on which phone number to call? maybe contracts agreed on UK soils <Could> over-ride India based call centres based arm (and we didn't crash any trains type-attitude)

ALSO again the FTA cards, may or not be an issue to OFCOM and the issue of DSAT (FTV) versus the FREEVIEW platform... but that could be the key weapon here (fear=confusion=price-point)

What is the sky price point? Once again a Murdoch-based Gumball Rally ensues!!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Im confused, sorry I only read last 2 pages as I ahve dial up and it seems to take anything from 1-5 minutes to load a page!

Anyway, I want SKY, mainly basic 4 mix package, though if half price maybe movie channels too.

Preferably for at least 3 months, but hopefully 5-6 at least

I did have it at my old flat, under a friends name as I didnt have my bank details at time, and had the old CD WOW offer.

Looking to get it this time under my name.

The posts are confusing as I cant tell from what I read if its new or disconected customers who can get this?

Where dis this come from miketrim? I cancelled my sub last week so I'm wondering if maybe I'll get a call later on offering me that to stay....

The CS were admanat last week that current subs would get nothing and they weren't offering discounts anymore, free broadband is the way to go apparently.

All types of customers are getting the 1/2 price deal although nothing is guaranteed.
If you've no equipment then Sky are doing a '1/3 off any package for 12months + free install of dish/box etc' to new customers, for the full package (inc sports & movies) that would make it £29ish/month rather than £43.50, obviously scale down the package accordingly for what you want.

If you go for 12months at 1/2 price then you'll need equipment buying and fitting so you'll get £21.75 for the full package but have to pay £50 for a second hand kit + £60 installation.....+ the hassle. The 1/3 off deal above equates to you paying £21.75 + £85 (same as £29x12) for a new dish installed + warranty etc etc... go for that one ;)

Some people who have phoned to blag the 1/2 price 12month deal have been knocked back but then offered 6months 1/2 price instead !!!!!!
