I do have a problem but it's with SKY not the people here. If they've tied in a bunch of people at £43.50 and a few weeks later others can get the exact deal for half that, who should the £43.50-paying person be mad at? SKY……………….
……………..Many of the people cancelling and then joining with the deal are, by default, loyal customers. If anything, they have already given money to SKY over a longer period of time and they should be the ones being treated well…………………….
……..Good luck to you if you are now paying less than before.
I must admit that every time I phoned the correct number on this thread I got through to a human within 5 seconds every time, but then again it was a special offer/sales line. The rest of the points I totally agree with you and as a previous loyal subscriber to the Sky monopoly (in my area) i have no problems taking up their offer and wish everyone else similar success. The offer is still open, just make sure you’ve read the posts at the start of the thread to realise what information you’ll need to hand to qualify0 -

been offered it at £99 plus £60 instalation.
Ill have to try again when my broadbands up for renewal - enjoy
i'm sure i've seen it for £49 recently as i believe in the very near future all new sky boxes will have sky+ functionality (as well as only having a single cable for all previous 'dual cable' functionality, something to do with helping flats etc with on single cable feeds), i'll have alook for you0 -

sky+ 49 pounds (80gb model)
free instalation
6 mix and sky sports half price 6 months
no 10 month fee
.................
superb result:T there's 3 or 4 people who have been offered the six month 1/2 price deal now (existing customers) and so it might be an idea for everyone else who's unsure about what to say or is currently contracted to go for this 'safer bet'
My current thinking that, at the moment, sky are out to crush the new Virgin Media empire and i think everyone should be trying to benefit from these tactics/offers. Sky is winning, they've removed channels resulting in the Virgin cancellation hotline going into meltdown and even MSE is telling Virgin customers to go for Virgin's jugular, Sky are laughing all the way to bank as all the extra 'cheap' subscriptions are pure profit, i hate the monopoly called Sky but they've pulled a media trump card here :laugh:0 -

Responding to this person's msg back on P.16...
I mis-read the post the I was responding to so put in a temp. post until I had changed my answer.
Patience is a virtue. Hang on, let me look that up; wait there.... That window's cracked on both sides!!0 -
weymuffred wrote:And to hell with anyone that suffers because of the blaggers.
Why should I not of told sky about this website?
Well, to hell with you, then, if that's you attitude and response to this website - a website that is here to help both you and me and is FULL of 'blaggers'. Why try and blacklist MSE with Sky when it does so much good for so many?
Remember, although some people are taking advantage of Sky through this offer (and Good Luck to them) it is also spreading the word to all those who are entitled to it too.
You jus seem a little unnecessarily bitter about this, for some reason. You seem to delight in telling us that you blabbed to Sky, too. And it cannot be just becos some people getting an offer if it wasn't intended for them. Is it?
If not, you must be either a Sky employee or affiliate or jus a killjoy of some kind.
Look, this is a MoneySaving website - if you come on here and post something that is contrary to that, expect the majority (or a few, at least) of the people here to berate you for it.
Did you get the deal yourself, by the way?
EDIT: Actually, don't answer that "waymuffred", I have just read some of the other responses to you and your comments and I wash my hands of you. Though if you did phone Sky to say how "disgusting that loyal customers are not being treated fair!!" then credit due: you done one thing right. Jus didn't have to mention MSE.
Nuff.. on with topic... That window's cracked on both sides!!0 -
I have decided not to take the risk to use this 12 months 1/2 price deal,I have recieved my card but no letter to confirm it is half price just a leaflet with the full price packages. I will take my chance at being offered sky for 6 months @ half price with no contract.
Do I have to cancel the 12 months one or will it just fizzle out if I dont activate the card?0 -

curtlyb wrote:Ring and activate the card, whilst you're on just ask to confirm the monthly payment is it £21.50 or £21.75, the worst scenario is that they'll have a problem and can only offer you 6months (only a couple of people have had this) but its virtually certain you'll be ok because the normal stumbling block is applying for the offer, activating it is the easy bit.......... act normal with them and give it a try, think its a no loser
So does anyone know if i need to cancel this new sub I have taken out I havn't acctivated the card.0 -
Calm-Seas wrote:Once the card is activated there is no cooling off period activating the card means you accept there terms and conditions and if they insist it is full price i am stuck with it. My other sub does not run out untill the 23rd of this mth and by then i am sure they will have closed this loophole and i will end up with it full price cant afford to take that risk.
So does anyone know if i need to cancel this new sub I have taken out I havn't acctivated the card.
the sub doesn't start until you activate the card, ok so ask them to confirm the price before you activate the card, if they quote the price you wanted then carry on with the activation which take the form of :-
Q) Please give me your new card number
a) xxx xxx xxx
Q) Is the phone line plugged into the box
a) No, i'm on the phone to you !!!
Q) Ok, when this calls finished please do the following
press services-4-0-1 sel then press new installation on t eh menu
a) ok fine, bye bye
When you've hung up, plug the box into the phone and do the above which will do a 'callback' and register the card with your box
Your old subscription will just run out in two weeks0
