I gave all my original details that I have with Sky now as a subscriber to the sports package (£37). Got through to this really helpful women. I told her that I had a Sky+ box and was interested in the free offer. Women asked if I recieved the leaflet and how was my free trail. I said to her, and I quote:
"I've been away in Dubai for just over 6 weeks, just got home last night and my wife gave me this number and said quote free trial when you ring them"
(Not that I'd gone to Dubai or anything)
She said not a problem, she went through all packages and said we got 2,4,6 mix etc. I said do you include the Sports she said yes with this package it cost's this much etc etc. I go to her whats the top package you do and how much for, she said it the Movies, Sports and 6 Mixes for £21.50, I told her put me on that one.....she took my name, address, bank details, I cant recall her taking my telephone number and she certainly didnt ask for my old viewing card number. She said herself she'll be send me a new viewing card and she gave me a new account number over the telephone. She also gave me the CS number to ring once I recieve the card to pair it up with my Sky+ box.
There you go, it's worked for a exsisting customer and this was done yesterday at about 3.45p.m
Try using the hubby/mrs left me with the details to ring and I was on holiday, maybe it'd work. So all the questions do I have to be a new customer or does it work for me or not......it's simple
*Exsisting customers can get it aswell as new customers, just depends who you get through.
*You'll defo need the Sky equipment, be it Sky+ or just a normal Sky box. (Not sure on HD) Once you recieve the viewing card you'll need to stick it into some box.
*Act polite and slightly dumb, engage in a conversation and build a mini relationship with the person your speaking to.
*Thank them at every oppurtunity (It really helps)
*End the conversation with "That's brilliant, thank you ever so much and have a very good day/evening". Leaving the CS Operator on a positive note makes it slightly easier for the next person to get a good deal.
On the other hand, I rang to try and cancel my original Sky package, they wanted 30 days notice etc etc. The young chap (with all due respect) never knew what he was going on about (sounded like a trainee) so I asked him to put his manager on. A women named Margaret, very nice women put me on £2 a month package with immediate effect. Dont know what the £2 package is, but we'll have to wait and see, but hey I am not complaining if the half price Sky sub card is coming through.0 -

It is (near) impossible to get it for existing customers as soon as i gave my address they knew everything , i just hung up.
What number did u ring and when u gave your details did thye not know u were an existing customer, I'm thinking of cancelling my sky sports world package and wait a few days and get the free trial but again they'll know i've just cancelled, how long do u think the offer is on for?0 -

I rang the 08702432018 number.
The offer is on til 31st March.
Also, (I know it may sound abit sad), if you read through all the posts, some of them offer good tips and advice you can use to get this package. I read through them, and as a exsisting customer I got the deal with my same details.0 -
I'm never going back to Sky unless Virgin/ntl go under, I may be paying more but hey I'd rather have my morals.0

Thanks Op. I have not has Sky for a very long time and have just signed up to the £21.50 full package jobby. I now need to cancel my cable tv.0

Right, another story to add to the mix. I called them this morning. My circumstances are as follows:
Don't have a dish installed
Used to be a customer til I moved last year and then chucked it.
I have the old sky box.
I asked for the special offer that my "colleague" had told me of.
The woman was very helpful and said that the offer they dealt with was for people with equipment only.
However, she gave me this number 0870 6061111 and said that I could get 1/3 off all sky packages for the first year with free installation and a new box. Also said that if I asked the man nicely he might install the old box in the bedroom.
Seems not too bad a deal. £29 for the complete sky world package.0 -
tried three times now all with same result. As soon as my details are taken they know that we're currently subscribers. Seems this one won't work for us.
