This worried me a bit - I have not yet cancelled my previous sub - has anyone had any problems where they have cancelled the account after the new account has been ordered???

    Any tips for cancelling?????

I think that if I had just said I wanted to cancel from today to go to Virgin, and paid for the last month they would have been OK with it.
I had already called them at the start of Feb and said I wanted to cancel as I was going to go to Virgin (Did intend to then), they then gave me 1 month free to reconsider... glad I waited as we watch Sky One a lot...

Saw this offer and thought I was onto a bargain...

Hope that you manage to cancel your orginal contract without them finding out... Good Luck

You should not call to confirm that was your downfull.. I would call again and try to get another contract lol

Maybe a idea to cancel first and then try. cos if it fails u can uncancel it.

I am on freesat but only from having been on a sky package and then cancelled subs. The snotty scottish girl that I just spoke to said that I have to be a "freesat customer" in order to qualify - ie I have to have paid for the freesat package instead of just migrating to it as a result of not subscribing to sky anymore. She flat out refused to give me the special deal. So I said that if Sky don't want me back as a customer then they can shove it!!!

Ordered my new card on Saturday (not received yet), phoned tonight to cancel old subscription. The guy said he didn't understand why I'm cancelling my old subscription & taking out a new one & said it's against sky T&C's to have more than one account per address. I said the freeview account was for my caravan & he said that I had a service call booked to install a new system & I'd be charged £390. I explained they should only send me a card & he kept on saying I've got a new installation booked for the new account. After arguing I managed to get him to cancel the old account, he them said lets sort out this other account & I replied that I'd rather speak to the department that set up my new account, he got shirty & said it's his job to sort it out so I put the phone down.
I phoned up CS 1/2 hr later & spoke to someone else, who said the card's on it's way & there's no installation booked. Sounds like the first CSR was trying it on. I'm just a bit worried that he may not have cancelled my first subscription, should I receive a letter from sky yo confirm this? I don't want to risk ringing up again.
    Next year we'll be millionaires!
  • Well the snotty English girl I just spoke to had no problem in letting me have the deal :T I used a different name, same address and different bank details.
    Card on its way :j
