Nationwide Mortgages - How long??

Speed of valuation depends on where you are.
This was in Walsall and we got a slot only a couple of days ahead. It was panelled to Connells though, Countrywide didn't do it themselves.I am a mortgage broker. :jYAY valuation on the system and only £500 less than our purchase price. As we've 'only' asked to borrow 40% and have held reserves for improvements and furniture I really really hope that won't be an issue as we can cover it!
Once again really helpful advisors on the phone - have pretty much given up on broker now when I can make a phone call myself. Case will be looked at tomorrow and has been marked urgent (again).
I wonder how long I can hold out tomorrow until I start phoning again0 -
My partner and I are also having problems with Nationwide doing a valuation survey.
We are FTBs but had a mortgage offer from Nationwide in May on a property which the vendor (who was very difficult throughout) changed her mind 3 months down the line and decided she didn't want to sell. Anyway, our valuation by Nationwide took about 3 weeks to do from our offer being accepted, which we thought was long enough.
Our offer on our current purchase was accepted on 29th July. The house we are buying is vacant and we need to move as soon as possible (i.e. now!). We are using the same mortgage broker and are still using Nationwide as our lender. Our mortgage broker informed Nationwide of the change of circumstance and new property details. We expected the process to be fairly simple as Nationwide already had all our documents and details and had previously offered us a mortgage.
Having chased the mortgage broker on an almost daily basis we have been told today that our survey is booked in for the 25th September - almost two months from our offer being accepted! Our mortgage broker says there is nothing they can do. I feel it's completely unacceptable to have to wait two months for a survey.
If anyone has contact details for anyone helpful at Nationwide, or any advice, that would be most appreciated.0 -
I thought I read a post where someone said they rang up Countrywide (the people who do the valuations for Nationwide) and they stressed it was an urgent situation and got an appointment sooner than their original one.
I just did a quick search and couldn't find that post but I am sure I read something along those lines....
The number I was given for Countrywide was 08442094409.
As a reference point -our valuation is on Friday which will be two weeks one day after our full application was submitted. Our property is in Surrey/London Borders.

Seems to be a theme with Nationwide at the moment - mortgage meeting last week, and survey now booked for the 24th of September! Hopefully my sellers will wait that longMy partner and I are also having problems with Nationwide doing a valuation survey.

Spoken to Countrywide, mortgage brokers and estate agents. Apparently there is nothing that can be done. Ridiculous considering we already had a mortgage offer from Nationwide at the time of our offer being accepted over a month ago!
Countrywide and Nationwide had also failed to tell us and the EA when the survey had been booked for - we only found out by chasing the mortgage broker. A bit worrying considering the EA holds the keys!
Anyway, moan over. Hopefully everything will go smoothly following the survey. Good luck to the rest of you!0 -
Our valuation was done in under a week from our offer being accepted. So far I have found nationwide to be very quick.0

Straw poll.
Who is having a basic mortgage report and valuation and who is having a homebuyer's done via the lender?
We have seen plenty of anecdotal evidence on here that choosing the latter adds around three weeks to the average inspection appointment due to the shortage of surveyors available to do them.I am a mortgage broker.
