Finally spoke to Countrywide today. They have booked the valuation/survery in for 12 August. That makes it 6 weeks after putting the application in! Terrible. Apparently they did not received instruction from Nationwide until a week ago!

I advised my client to have the mortgage report & valuation done by Countrywide and have his HomeBuyer's done by a separate surveyor.

The HB was done yesterday and the valuation today. We don't know when the valuation would have been done if Countrywide had been doing both!

My survey is Thursday now, they could not fit it in today, so will have to wait that bit longer, its been a month now since full application went in.

Our Nationwide application is taking a little bit longer than some on here, we're FTB:

15.7.13 - Deal in principle from NW
18.7.13 - Agreed sale price with vendor
19.7.13 - Product reserved text from NW
19.7.13 - Application received text from NW
26.7.13 - Survey and valuation done by Countrywide
    30.7.13 - Homebuyers report received.

Now followed by radio silence and plenty of broker chasing...

Employer's or landlord's references outstanding? Some other missing item?

There's a reason it hasn't been offered after that length of time.

5 weeks so far with NATIONWIDE! And we keep having to chase them up! I phone every two days for a progress report and if we hadn't despite giving phone numbers and email addresses we get the impression if we hadn't chased then we would not have been informed of a problem for at least a week! Certainly the best one is that it takes 4 days for the underwriters to do their bit. We should have had an offer yesterday! Nothing! Phoned this morning and had to answer yet more questions we had already answered! Honestly if we weren't so far along we would have gone elsewhere! Oh and its only 56% LTV, want to borrow 110000 and I earn £38k should have been rubber stamped really!!
  • Aw gawd,

    I'm

    03/08 AIP
    16/08 offer accepted

Can't see a nationwide person face to face until the 23rd of August.

Already been told there is a delay on valuations. I'm hoping that not having any kkind of homebuyers or structural survey done through nationwide will speed things up.

17.7.13 - Private homebuyers survey completed

29.7.13 - Private survey report recieved
    30.7.13 - Nationwide's valuation

22.8.13 - Still no decision from Nationwide. They haven't yet got their valuation survey on the system, but it does match the offer price (apparently.)

They requested an employer reference from the New York HR of my company, which caused some delays, and my UK HR have sent them 4 fax copies and a postal copy of my employer reference, all sent between 10th and 14th Aug, which they claim not to have received.

Where do I go from here?
