Had our valuation done 5 days after AIP.... now there waiting for us to send in supporting documents...
  • Our story:
AIP way back in the dim distant fog of my memory (Jan 13?)
    06/08 offer accepted
    06/08 new AIP
06/08 instruct solicitor, book our own buildings survey
07/08 application via broker with Nationwide
08/08 broker uploads docs (so we think...)
08/08 texts received from Nationwide saying application received
12/08 buildings survey reveals no problems (well, an old conservatory that needs taking down and a totally overgrown garden - we'd spotted those things!)
14/08 I email broker asking if any news. No reply
19/08 I text broker asking if any news. No reply
20/08 I phone broker asking if any news. No reply. I phone Nationwide, get our case number and am told they've not got my last payslip. I'm not allowed to send it, it has to be via broker. I phone broker again with this news. Get email and then she phones me. Turns out system didn't upload properly and they don't have the full postcode. Grrr. She uploads it again and then faxes it to make sure.
21/08 I phone Nationwide to check all ok. They still don't have my last payslip. I take it to our local branch to get it authorised and faxed. Also persuade advisor to let me email it to her once authorised. Phone to check all ok and ask to go through the other details. Postcode still wrong. I correct it. Really good service from the Nationwide advisor. She emails me to say I can contact her whenever I need an update. (Little does she know...)
22/08 I ask for update. The instruction for valuation has now been sent to Countrywide. 'All income proofs have now been satisfied'. Finally, she tells me: 'There is a Manually Assess Case task on the system this means someone will be going into the case to assess it this is usually picked up within 48 hours'. Is this a good thing? What does it mean??
  • 23/08 Mortgage valuation booked for tomorrow. Yay!!! Everything crossed they agree with the building surveyor. Hurrah for Nationwide staff! (at the moment).

    Our latest Nationwide case.

    Application submitted 20/8/13.

Single payslip required and uploaded 22/8/13.

    Valuation done and back 22/8/13.

    Offer issued 23/8/13.

    Not bad.

  • Kingstreet, if only our broker were as good as you. Am kicking myself for not chasing earlier. However, all appears to be in hand now.

Do you have any idea what the phrase ' there is a Manually Assess Case task on the system this means someone will be going into the case to assess it this is usually picked up within 48 hours' means? I can see it means someone is going to assess the case, but what I don't know is if it is normal/good/worrying/strange? This is the phrase used by the really helpful Nationwide advisor in her email to me. I'm resisting asking her as I don't want to use up my questions too early!
    Thanks

That's not something I'm familiar with, but TBH everything is on "48 hours" these days, so I'm sure it means something will be done soon.

  • Heard from my new Nationwide best buddy - she said it 'is a routine procedure, neither good or bad, the system actions the task for someone to go into the case and just make sure it's all going through smoothly.

In our case it's been done and taken off the system.

Many thanks for taking the time to reply.
  • Kingstreet that is amazingly quick! I applied yesterday, mortgage adviser said surveys are taking 3 weeks!

We applied on the 21st of August and our survey is not until the 11th Sept, so sounds about right.
Aim - BUYING A HOUSE  by November 2013!
    Saved = 100% on 03/07/12 :j
