Nationwide Mortgages - How long??

Our valuation was instructed and completed almost immediately - it's just everything else that's gone wrong.
We're existing customers, but for some reason have to go through the "New Business" mortgage section, who (as a couple of their more sensible staff and a branch manager have confirmed) are a nightmare!
They seem to use 2 computer systems that don't talk to each other. They are terribly confused by my wife having a maiden name (despite them seeing the marriage certificate 10 years ago). Contrary to the HMRC's advice, they won't accept the online version of the SA302 self employed tax submission, neither will they accept faxed evidence direct from HMRC. This despite us already having a mortgage with them, and both having held accounts with them for more than 20 years.
The letter we were waiting for from them, it turns out, was never sent. The phone call they claim to have made clarifying what info they actually need they never made. I hope their case handler Mandy's having a lovely holiday this week (and no one else can possibly deal with her in box whilst she's away), as ours last week was significantly marred by having to make so many phone calls to them, listening to bad lounge jazz whilst being kept on hold and getting conflicting information every time we rang. Bureaucracy gone mad. :mad:4.7kWp (12 * Hyundai S395VG) facing more or less S + 3.6kW Growatt inverter + 6.5kWh Growatt battery. SE London/Kent. Fitted 03/22 £1,025/kW + battery £24950 -
Does booking the valuation with Nationwide been the credit and documentation checks have been passed?0

Credit check - yes, we applied by phone and they did that bit before instructing the valuation. Document checks - no, they don't hold up the valuation for that (thank goodness).4.7kWp (12 * Hyundai S395VG) facing more or less S + 3.6kW Growatt inverter + 6.5kWh Growatt battery. SE London/Kent. They held our valuation up until they had all paper work in and approved them.0 -
we move tomorrow and have had similar terrible experiance with nationwide, not able to get an appointment with branch advisor, 2 lots of payslips gone missing, other paperwork not requested until last minute when it could have been completed back in may. The offer came late last week for the wrong amount - and call centre would not help as the security question was how much is the valuation and of course, they had the wrong figure. This is not even a new mortgage just porting an existing one over and no additional lending. Have been customers for years with current accounts, mortgages and isa with nationwide - my brother is a mortgage advisor and told us he would not be able to take business away from Nationwide as the service is so good - he, like us, is aghast at the service we have had.
Also it seems they have not gone ahead with a home and contents insurance leaving us uninsured tomorrow and no one in main office can help and local branch have not a clue.. mortgage 2 87,000 due 51,686.76 at july 2013, but then:new home and remortgage ... £101065.43:eek: now 74k

My partner and I are having a bit of a nightmare with Nationwide and Countrywide. Nationwide have been taking longer with application as I am an ex bankrupt so have been tearing me apart asking every in and out of my financialy affairs which is to be expected. We went on hols on the 17th July for 2 weeks and was advised valuation/survey would be done whilst away (they took card payment prior to us going). We returned today to find out Countrywide have done nothing, no valuation booked so we are a month on and no further.
Application put in on 2nd July
....still waiting....0 -

We applied for a mortgage from the Nationwide 7 weeks ago and everytime I phone them they need more info. I've had no correspondence from them. I have just come back from a 2 week holiday and before I went, I phoned 4 days in a row, to check if they needed any more info, as I didn't want my holiday to hold things up. I have just got back, phoned them and found out they are waiting on more info.
I emailed the info, then phoned later to check it had been received, which it had and they were going to pass it on. I have now phoned again today and been told to send an other one and it can take over a week and a half to turn around, that will be over 2 months! The people we are buying the house from are starting to get anxious now! I wish they would just send you a list of things they need and then you could send it all in one go and things would move on a bit quicker. Very frustrated0 -
They normally do that.
I can only guess that something on the item you are sending triggers a requirement for something else.
The usual requirements can be;-
payslip(s)
identification or proof of address, right to reside or visa
P60
employer's reference
accountant's certificate or SA302s if self-employed
bank statements
assured shorthold tenancy if a landlord.I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
