Nationwide Mortgages - How long??
Comments
-
I am planning to apply for Nationwide mortgage.
I called my local branch for the appointment but they are quite busy and have no appointment for a week or so.
I cannot apply by phone as it is a shared ownership property.
Is there any online link available where I can book my appointment in any of local branches?0 -
Submitted our full mortgage application on Friday morning at 9.30am. Valuation was instructed at 11.18am (didn't get a text message. Phoned up Nationwide and they told me over the phone).
Aside from a text saying we've submitted our application, we've heard nothing since about the valuation getting booked.
Given that we've had a bank holiday, I'm not massively surprised, but the vendor's estate agent has been breathing down our necks since Friday afternoon, asking for details about when it will be booked.
According to her, Nationwide usually book the valuation the same day the mortgage application is submitted. Is that true?
Also, found out today our Nationwide mortgage advisor is now off until mid-June. Is that likely to hold things up further, as the vendors are really pushing for a quick resolution on all this and I'm starting to feel pretty anxious.0 -
Mine wasn't booked the same day - it was 3 or 4 days later. I was getting pressure from the vendor too. When they did book it in, it was for two weeks away. I am in London though, and I suspect that Countrywide, their surveyors, are particularly busy here.0

Hi,
My valuation was instructed on the Thursday but it took until the following Wednesday for them to book it. Some of this was due to the fact they could not get hold of the vendor. When it was booked it was for a week's time(today) I understand they are very busy at the moment.
Fingers crossed for you.0 -
Nervy nervy nervous here! I've read through the whole of this thread so thanks for all the info. We are right at the beginning of the process.

Good luck Baileyboo:D
So our valuation was carried out this morning & we have received our formal mortgage offer:j So two weeks from the application & all sorted. We received a text saying the valuation was ok & then seconds later one saying our offer had been issued. Very impressed with them.:T0 -
Lovely news. Fingers crossed ours goes as smoothly!
Let me know how you go on and how long till you get the hard copy in your hands :beer:0 -
Success! Phoned Countrywide at 9am to find out where they were with the valuation booking, and they said it "should be" done today as it has just appeared on their system.
Got to half four and I'd heard nowt, so decided to call them again. This time I got through to the person who books the valuations for our postcode. She then offered to phone the agent and book it in straightaway, which she dutifully did.
Got the text message confirming it about five minutes later.
Only blot on the landscape is that the earliest appointment we could get was 19 June. Still, at least it's booked.
We've got all our legal work done. Is there anything else we need to do or is it just back to the old waiting game again?0 -

The dreaded Nationwide document black hole strikes again. Despite handing them over during our mortgage meeting last week, Nationwide appear to have lost my payslip and the six months of bank statements we submitted. Oh, and our mortgage consultant is on holiday now until the third week of June. What a palava!0
