  • Thank you all!

DH has been better yesterday and today. No seizures thank goodness, although perhaps a little more forgetful than normal.

Unfortunately Saturday is my main day at work so our family day is sunday. Can't wait!

Snow has been coming down thick and fast. We had all cleared the road outside our houses but it's pure white again now .

Steph, I hope your DS gets better soon. It's awful when they are sick. DS1 had chicken pox when I was 8 months pregnant with DS2! He wasn't really ill with it though, but I remember the itching stage well!

Hope you manage to avoid both those nasty bugs, you have enough going on at the moment without cp or sf to deal with as well x

  • Hi granny, nice to have you up and about again!

Well I spoke too soon about DH :( He was very confused again last night, for example he was asking where the kids were at 9pm, because he thought someone had taken them out rather than realising they were in bed. He kept asking what we were doing for the rest of the day  and he couldn't remember what month it was. He also mentioned feeling 'waves of fear' which is how he felt the day of the last seizure, so of course I was on edge all night and hardly slept. At 3am he sat bolt upright in bed and I thought 'here we go', but he just said he needed the loo and he did make it there and back but he was very slow and wobbly. He's still asleep now so I don't know how he is today yet (I've been up since about 6am with DS2). It's days like this when I wish I had the carers allowance so I don't have to go to work :(.

Snow has continued to fall overnight so will have to dig the car out again. However, that's supposed to be it now and the next 5 days are forecast to reach the heady heights of 9•c! Best dig out the t-shirt and shorts!!

  • Heavens PLMBL, thay sounds really scary. At what point do you need to take him to the hospital or Drs?.

Did they tell you to expect moments of confusion etc?. Is he better or worse since his meds got altered?.

I really do hope he is past the worst today and you shift went quickly. Does he cope ok with the children when you are at work?

    Thinking of you hun xxx
  • hi
have you a on call seizure nurse at hospital you can contact? you probably could do with a chat and a few tips.
Ours is on call mon - thurs and as often given advice over phone or asked us to pop to a and e / to clinic - just might need a tinkering with meds or infection could be brewing to bring hubby back in line.. As hubbys full time carer I know how scary the roller coaster ride we are on is xxx

    Evening PLMBL,

Hope DH is ok, its good that you know the symptoms so that you can prepare him with his meds etc.

Hope DS2 doesnt get the bugs, neither of my DDs have had chicken pox you know! Im thinking they are carriers and wont actually get them as theyve been around so many kids that have had them but never had them! If ive ever seen a tiny spot on them ive eagerly checked them and nothing!!
My DD2 has been not very well since yesterday, getting better though helped through with calpol and nurofen.

    Hope work was ok xx

Thanks for all the concern guys! DH is much better tonight, although still a little slow and forgetful, he isn't confused any more. I struggled through work today if I'm honest as I was worried for him, even though MIL was with them. I'm tired and feeling a bit down :(.

Steph, I've only left him alone with the children while I'm at work once, and that resulted in DS1 calling an ambulance! Usually MIL or my Mum, or DH's friend is with them. He's usually fine though and he is the one who looks after them, the other person is just the back up.

He's been much worse than this before so I know when it goes on for longer or he is more repetitive/confused/panicked then it's time to get help from the Dr or hospital. It's hard to say if it's to do with his increased dosage as it has coincided but it's nothing new if you see what I mean!

Hi Tuna, I had no idea you were going through the same :( Big hugs, it's not easy is it?! I hadn't even considered the infection route! Thanks for pointing that out, I'll keep a close eye on him. We saw the epilepsy/seizure nurse last week and she gave us her number. I will give her a call if he isn't better by Monday.

Mummy, I hope your DD2 is well again soon. It's that age old thing whereby you want your child to get Chicken Pox because it's better to have it as a child, however you don't want them to get it because no-one wants their child to be ill!

One good thing happened today! I was observed by a Manager while dealing with a customer (I didn't know she was watching!) and I passed with flying colours! :D

  • Hey PLMBL

I'm just having a mass catch up after being away for a few days. Really sad to hear that DH is having trouble at the mo and you're a bit down too. I think it's really understandable and you need to be really nice to yourself for the next few days until you're feeling better. Generally reading your diary things are going a lot your way at the moment! Amazing news on your 3.5lb weight loss, that's loads! I'm trying to lose 2lbs a week/2 stone too so your determination is definitely inspiring me. Really pleased you've applied for CA now, don't forget to let your local Council know for Housing Benefit purposes. With all your hitting the gym you should be really proud of yourself. :j

  • Another lovely pre 6am start to the day thanks to DS2 :( I don't know why this kid doesn't sleep in longer! Last night he didn't have his tea until 7pm which is v late for him, and then he didn't go to bed until 8.15pm which again is late for him, yet he is still up at the crack of dawn! It's a good job he's so cute or he might find himself on eb@y!

Thanks for popping in Fudgie! I'm really trying hard with the diet while my head is in the right place with it. I know I will not only look and feel better if I lose weight, but I will have more energy and feel more positive too. I avoided the vending machine at work yesterday which is always a downfall, but I generally didn't want anything from it. I want a weight loss more. Remember, little pickers wear bigger knickers :rotfl:.

Providing DH is ok when he wakes up, I'm planning on doing something fun with the kids today like swimming or softplay etc. We've been stuck in more often than not because of the snow for more than a week, so it's time to burn off some energy. Will try to fit it in around seeing my Grandma etc too if possible.
