It did for me too PG! My sensible head says percentage wise he lost more and I have WAY more to lose than him yadayadayada, but the little kid in me just thinks stuff that you won! Nah nah nenah nah :rotfl:.
Had a bit of good fortune at the gym today. I don't think half the staff on the reception desk know their ars3 from their elbow, but we finally spoke to someone who knew what they were talking about. Basically, we were given concession cards due to DH's benefit from the start, which allowed us to each get in for a reduced amount of £3.30, so £6.60 each time. We asked if they did any concessions on monthly membership but we were told no, it would be £50 per month for both of us. I wasn't prepared to commit to that as we didn't think that would be cost effective.
We then went 3 times last week which cost £19.80  I realised if we kept that up then it would cost £80 per month  Suddenly £50 a month seemed like a better option than it had so I decided to ask a bit more about it (even though I thought the better idea would be not to go at all and save the money, but we are really enjoying going!:o). I was then told by a different member of staff that it was actually £15 per month per person if you are in receipt of benefits so that meant £30 per month. We came home and discussed it and decided to go for it.
Went in today and spoke to yet another member of staff who this time said that DH would be £15 per month as he was getting DLA, but that I could get in FREE as his carer :j. So we have reduced it from a potential £80 per month to £15. I can live with that!! Plus it's only 1 month at a time so any time we feel we can't afford it we just have a month or 2 off!
My sister is coming for tea tonight. I haven't seen her since New Years Day due to snow or illness or her work etc so I'm looking forward to a catch up XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Great result on the gym fees! Does that mean you can only go when DH goes, though?
Also, well done on the weight loss. And I'd also be gloating about being the biggest loser, no matter what the % results are! I started serious weight loss last February when there was a danger that DH's diet would result in him weighing less than me. It was the best thing I had done, because I've now lost 22lbs, with a low carb way of life. It was the best thing I EVER could have done, because 2 months later I discovered that a previous blood test showed diabetes - which my GP didn't bother to tell me about: Lordy, Lordy. What could have happened if I'd stayed on my high fat, high sugar eating habits. Now, I've reduced my blood sugar to under the diabetic level. The practice nurse is keeping me on the "diabetic" list, as I am very susceptible to the shakes and blurred vision if I go too long without food or eat too much sugar. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
Wowzers Satchmo, I can't believe the Dr didn't tell you!!! Congrats on the weight loss though!
No I can't go in the gym for free without DH, but whilst it's sort of irrelevant as we will always go together anyway, if ever it did happen I could just pay the £3.30 fee. The best thing though is that all swimming and classes are included too, not just the gym
Thanks for the congrats Dot and Robin too.
Well Sis has been here, complete with engagement ring. Her partner proposed last night :T and she's all excited bless her. Lovely to have nice news for a change Xx

Happy days about the gym! That'll work out well, save you's a bundle, and if you do happen to go once in a blue moon by yourself, it's only a few pounds
Congratulations to your sisterFantastic news

Not a great deal to report today. Wen't to gym again this morning while DS2 was at playgroup and then made Carribean Pepperpot beef in the slowcooker for tea. It smelled devine and apparently it was gorgeous but being veggie I haven't tasted it!!
Went to work for 5pm, MIL stayed with the boys and DH. It was very quiet in work tonight which normally makes it boring but tonight I was glad of it!
Tomorrow I have the elusive Job Centre appointment where they 'try to assist me' in finding more work. That'll be interesting then!!Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
