Steph thank you for your perspective and kind words. I feel better today but will be more honest when feeling down in future and will let the Dr know if it becomes very frequent. Your DH sounds just like mine! He had a BMX before the accident which we sold to raise cash because he 'wouldn't use one again'. Now he wants one again to do bloody tricks on. The bloke is 34!!! He went in a strop when I said no and we fell out before I left for work but he has since apologised. I do take some responsibility because I've never said no before but it just incensed me that he threw a strop over a want not a need when I've put off so many needs and not said a word.

    Morning PLMBL

You hubby is exactly the same as mine.

In the past i never liked any of us to do without any whim or want we thought of, thats what got us into this disasterous mess.

Now I am saying NO to hubbies crazy ideas, he is really struggling.

It certainly took my OH a while to come to terms with the idea of "saving up" for this shotgun he wants.

I made him a deal that anything he earnt over his usual weekly wage, he could save for his beloved shotgun. Has backfired on me slightly because he has made over £500 so far .

Wish I had'nt told him that and said he just COULD'NT have it :( Nevermind.

Hope you are having a lovely Sunday xx

I think you are right about the grieving thing. I think I was too involved in all the drama after the miscarriage that it's only now that it's all settled down that the loss is more prominent. I'll be fine though

..Sweetheart, it will take more time for your hormones to stop playing up - go easy on yourself! ;):)

Hi Lucky......as often happens one of your posts triggered a memory for me, let me share it with you now for your delight and delectation lol. 30 odd years ago (God, and I really that old) I could have been one of those well groomed fashionable ladies that you compared yourself so unfavourably to. I remember at the time I was between DH 1 and 2 so hadn't had DS yet. I was living in a new town, was bl00dy skint, had no friends and was miles away from my family. I was lonely and vulnerable. I always have been well groomed, never a great beauty by any means but always made the best of myself. I so remember one day when I was feeling particularly down as my younger sister had just had a baby and my biological clock was ticking very loudly. I saw a harried looking young mum as I walked past a cafe one day. She looked at me as I looked at her and we both smiled at each other. I don't know about her but my God did I ever envy that lady. I imagined her going home to her nice house, making the tea for her hubby and bathing the two young kids and putting them to bed, whilst I was stuck in my cold, damp flat with the crack in the bathroom wall you could see daylight though (I kid you not). So you see, these things are not always as they seem.

Satchmo's suggestion is spot on, I was going to suggest that when (not if) you get the carers allowance that you make time for yourself and go to your local hairdressing college. The students are quite advanced before they are let loose on the public, and whilst they take longer to cut/colour your hair the results are the same and it costs a fraction of the price.

    You take care now

    Dot

Thank you for keeping me sane everyone, I don't know what I'd do without you :A.

I appreciate you sharing your story Dot, it's good to get another perspective. New Leaf I'm in awe you have some mind left lol.

Today has unexpectedly been a stay at home day and my first NSD of the month. My grandma and Auntie have gone off elsewhere for the day and DH's friend has asked him to help another friend move house, so the boys and I have stayed put. Mum called round though so it was nice to see her, and for a change when she asked how I was I didn't say 'fine'. I told her I'd been feeling down and she said exactly what everyone on here has said about putting myself first for a change. When she left she gave me £10 towards my haircut :D.

As far as the haircut goes, I get it down by the trainee at my hairdressers so it's half price, but I will definitely check out the local college prices to see how it compares.

Tomorrow I have my appointment with the Consultant Gynaecologist, but hopefully all will be ok as it all seems to have settled down ans the scan was clear Xx

  • Hey PLMBL. Sorry I haven't been about for a couple of days. Sounds like you are feeling more positive now which is fab! :D Well done on staying sane!! You've got a great support network on here for you. Make the most of us!! ;)

I know you had a nosey in my diary, but not sure if you seen the few posts about a book I read recently: The Art of Being Brilliant. I would definitely recommend it. Even get it out of your local library to save you buying.

Hope all is ok at appointment :)

  • Good luck at the Hospital hun. Nice of your mum to give you £10.

I am booked at my local college. (Half a head Highlights & cut & Blowdry) will cost me £18. That might give you an idea as to wether its muchcheaper than your salon.

Think a whole head adds up to £25.

    Take care hun xx
  • Thank you HAW I shall check out that book. I could do with some help in the 'brilliant' department :D.

Pooh, I got the all clear at the hospital :j:j:j. He asked if we were trying again but we said no, not for a while at least, but he said he didn't forsee any problems when we do want a third which was reassuring.

Steph, thanks for the info about the hairdressing college! I pay £30 at my hairdressers when I let the trainee do my hair (cut and colour) so it is a bit more expensive but not wildly so. Will look into it at my local college.

Went to Mr T's on the way back from the hospital and spent £68.67 so I think I may go over budget this week if I need anything else. It's always hard the week I need nappies, but will try to keep any top up shops to a minimum.

Had a friend and her little one here this afternoon which was lovely. She's one of my oldest friends in that we've known each other since middle school but she still looks exactly the same! Her little boy is 9 months younger than DS2 so they had a good time playing together.

Beavers tonight. Slimming World curry for tea. Not much else to report!
