Well just tell DH that at the moment you only deal with needs not wants and therefore !!!!!! re BMX or no way jose!
Glad you are feeling a bit better and agree re binning the jumper, you are bound to still be having down days at the moment you are still grieving and already have a lot to cope with. You truly are an inspiration though my dear x

Sorry to hear you were feeling down yesterday, and sorry I was'nt around to try and cheer you up.
We all feel like poop about our apprearance sometimes, especially as we are DFW's trying not to spend a penny on anything.
Like the the previous poster said, they probably have stinking personalities.
Look after yourself, if you feel you are becoming down VERY often then maybe a trip to have a chat with the DR might be worthwhile. I have been very tempted to go to the Drs in the past as I have had long periods of feeling everything is poop.
So glady ou have booked yourself in at the hairdressers. Sometimes we take budgeting too far and we must occasionally let ourselves have something nice. Its a long haul to become debt free.
Hope you are feeling abit brighter today. BIG HUGS x
P.d Had to laugh at your OH wanting a BMX. We bought our 8 yer old DS one for his birthday last September and I swear my husband has ridden it more than him. Trying to relive his youth doing tricks. I swear he will brake his neck one day0 -
Sendings hugs Be Lucky. Don't be too hard on yourself - it does take ages for hormones to settle. Do you have any 'Running Away Money'. My mum always used to have a little secret stash so that when she felt really low she could splurge on a treat just for her. I have carried on the tradition. I rarely spend anything but it's great knowing that a little something is there so I can treat myself to a new top when I'm feeling a bit shabby.
Have you had your thyroid tested. It's so common in women in their prime (I won't say 'of our age') and often brought on by pregnancy. I have had an underactive thyroid now for about 5 years and it has an enormous impact on your mood (and weight) if you're not getting any treatment.
Take care of yourself

Thanks for the boost every one Xx
Granny I dont feel like an inspiration but bless you for saying so. I think you are right about the grieving thing. I think I was too involved in all the drama after the miscarriage that it's only now that it's all settled down that the loss is more prominent. I'll be fine though Xx
Steph thank you for your perspective and kind words. I feel better today but will be more honest when feeling down in future and will let the Dr know if it becomes very frequent. Your DH sounds just like mine! He had a BMX before the accident which we sold to raise cash because he 'wouldn't use one again'. Now he wants one again to do bloody tricks on. The bloke is 34!!! He went in a strop when I said no and we fell out before I left for work but he has since apologised. I do take some responsibility because I've never said no before but it just incensed me that he threw a strop over a want not a need when I've put off so many needs and not said a word.
Fortune I don't have running away money but I have managed to build a little savings account after putting £20 per month away last year, which was meant for Xmas but then I managed to pay for Xmas as I went along. Then I thought it'd be for car MOT/repairs but car passed and didn't need any work. Finally I thought it'd be for DS2's birthday, but again I managed that through normal funds. I suppose it's there for a treat but I see it more as an emergency fund or even for a little break away in the summer. Something to think about though, thank you. Regarding my thyroid I've been tested previously (my Mum had an overactive one - if I do have a problem it's definitely underactive :rotfl:), but I didn't realise it could be trigged by pregnancy etc. might be worth getting it checked again!
Work was fairly quiet for a Saturday but busy enough not to drag. Other than that not much to report. Hope everyone is well XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Hi Lucky, I hope you have a better day today and that things start to turn around for you. I would definitely spend a little of the nest egg you have tucked away on yourself. You deserve it.
I bet a bit of time out at the hairdressers will help you feel better too. You don't have any time out at all. And I am sure that your DH is like mine who loves you just the way you are, old jumper or no old jumper.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Hi Lucky
Hope you are feeling a bit brighter today. You cope so well, it's only human to have the occasional dip, so please forgive yourself. If a friend was telling you the same tale you would hug them and encourage them, wouldn't you?
Do you have a local college that runs a hairdressing/beauty course? If so, they usually offer very low priced treatments, that are supervised. They can take twice as long as a salon treatment, because they are learning their craft.
Equally, if the college runs catering courses, they often have a cafe/restaurant that's open to the public, which is lower priced.
The students need to practice, but be reassured that their supervisors are on hand to step in if necessary.
Scour the charity shops or car boot sales for something nice, then weigh in the jumper or put it in the clothes recycling. Justify it by thinking "I've had the jumper x years, so it doesn't owe me anything" as in, cost per wearing it's paid you back in spades.
Agree with a previous poster about dealing with the BMX-wish along the lines of "put it on the wish list for when we are solvent and we'll see".
Giggling a bit to myself because my sons eventually realised that "we'll see" meant no.
Hugs xxWhat would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0
