• Hi Pooh, hope you are well. It was white with frost here this morning and freezing on the walk to school, but it soon melted when the sun came out this afternoon. It has remained cold but bright.

Got the £139.20 from ESA today that they owed us so I could actually put some food in the cupboards :j. I also weighed in some old clothes etc for the grand sum of £2.95. bEven better that they were my Auntie's so didn't cost me anything in the first place.

DH had some bloods taken today as he was supposed to see the Endrocrinologist tomorrow, but according to his nurse the normal Dr we see at the hospital in on annual leave so it would be a locum we see. The collective decision was to rearrange his appointment for when the Dr is back to allow continuity of treatment.

Ooh and the piece of furniture my friend gave me to eb@y is up to £36 so far :T. It doesn't finish until Sunday!

Hello my dear, just catching up on diaries and thought I'd pop in to drop off this message that made me think of you:

Sometimes in life you find a special friend
Someone who changes your life, just by being part of it
Someone who makes you laugh until you can't stop
Someone who makes you believe that there really is good in the world
Someone who convinces you
That there is an unlocked door just waiting for you to open it

Thank you for being you x

• Aw Granny that is fab thank you! I'm honoured it made you think of me!! It's made me all warm and fuzzy, not least because my Dad always wrote in cards 'Thanks for being you', so it's brought back some happy memories.

Not a lot to report today. Did some tidying etc and got the big winter coats down from the loft coz it's turned a tad chilly ;).

Weigh in tonight was a disaster and I've now gained weight 3 weigh ins running :(. Going to really try and stop comfort eating this week as it's not making me happy in the long run.

Looking forward to the new series of Geordie Shore that's about to start :o.

• Got 1st DLA payment yesterday so paid a little more off my debts, but not too much as we have really struggled the last couple of weeks to balance everything and I don't want to get that bad again.:o

DH had a first meeting with a psychiatric counsellor which went well, but it was more of an information session. He sees him again in 2 weeks.

I also got a few Christmas presents for the boys in Mr T's yesterday, which cost next to nothing thanks to their double up clupcard scheme and a £10 voucher I earned doing surveys. I'm really pleased how the pile is building and I have spent next to nothing.:T

We had a 'night off' last night and just chilled with a dvd when the boys were in bed. It was Daniel Craig's version of The Girl With The Draggon Tattoo, and it was very good (even if I did have to shut my eyes in places :o).

Off to hospital again soon for what will now be my 4th scan. I'm not expecting it to be clear as I don't feel much has changed since last week. I'm going to say I'm ready to have a procedure done as it's been 5 weeks now and I think that's long enough. Eeek!

Thinking of you today, Be Lucky, hope all goes well. :)

Now that DH has been awarded DLA, have you applied for Carers Allowance?

ETA: Cross-posted - just seen your latest news - that's fantastic! Am delighted for you ((hugs))! :D
• I'm looking into it Robin. Whilst DLA is a non taxable benefit and not taken into account as income for ESA purposes, carers allowance is. It may take us out of the 'income related' bracket and therefore might be better awarded as an underlying benefit and not paid unless our situation changes. Then again, we might be better off with it being paid so I need to get more info on it Xx
