  • Thank you satchmo, Pooh & Brizzle. I'm posting from my phone as the laptop won't connect to the new broadband that has finally been installed  so sorry if I don't address each of you individually.

Sunday was full on. I had the Remembrance Day Parade and Service with the Beavers at 9am in the morning and then DS1 had a party at 11. After that we met MIL and her friend for coffee and then I took it upon myself to do 4 hours of random cleaning in the house (shoe cupboard, bottom of the wardrobe etc). This turned out to be a nice little earner as I found about £10 in assorted coins!
Talking about nice little earners, a bit of furniture we were given to sell went for £72 on eb@y :T.

Yesterday we had the broadband fitted and then DS2 & I did a bit of shopping at Mr T's. DH hurt his foot again so he sat round all day with his feet up. Least said about that the better!! I rang the job centre about the missed appointment but was told that the appointment had been cancelled anyway and "had I not got that letter either?". Grrr no! She asked me if I normally had problems with my post, to which I replied "Only when it comes from you!!". New appointment made for end of November.

Today I took DH to the walk in centre about his foot. It's tendon damage and the Xray was clear. This afternoon he had an appointment with the Head Injury specialist who reviewed the EEG and scans he had in September. Good news is that the abnormal patterns were slight so that makes them think the seizure was more likely to be a one off than a regular thing. Time will tell.

Got weighed tonight and gained yet another pound :(. Disappointed as I have been much better this week.

Really looking forward to our weekend away. It's been fab having something nice to look forward to Xx

  • Thank you for the kind words ladies! PG, there is no need to say sorry, you have a lot on your plate too Xx

So today started at 4am :(. DS2 woke up and I had to go in to see him 6 times between 4 and 5am. At 5am I gave up and brought him downstairs. I was not in the best of moods to say the least! I'll even admit to feeling sorry for myself :o

My mood was not helped by yet another rude T@lk T@lk staff member. We still cannot connect the laptop to wifi or access it on our phones in other parts of the house, so I rang the helpdesk. The guy I spoke to eventually deduced there was a fault at the BT exchange but said he had to inform me if there was no fault found it would cost me £50. I said there was no way on earth I was going to pay after all the problems they've caused and the bloke had the cheek to say I was 'selective listening' and was 'only hearing what I wanted to hear'. I said how dare he speak to me like that, I had listened perfectly well and it was T@lk T@lk who chose to ignore me. They asked for 72 hours to allow BT time to fix the fault. I wont hold my breath!

Tonight my Mum and sister came for tea. It was good to see them. Mum gave us £10 as DH has fixed some things in her house for her, which was very nice of her. She also gave the boys £5 for our weekend away. Sis gave me £5 towards the meal I made, which was equally good of her when I still owe her £815!

Off to bed soon, I'm shattered! Xx

    plmbl,
It sounds as though you need to talk to a supervisor or someone higher at the phone company as it is shocking customer service and extremely rude to talk to you like that.

PG the boys are really excited about our weekend away. I think DS1 not least because he gets the day off school tomorrow!

Pooh you are right I need to speak to a manager but I've been trying that for the last 6 weeks and got nowhere! Will try again though.

Had a nice day with friends today. Met one friend for breakfast (buy one get one free so we went halves & spent £3 each!). Went to another friend's for coffee this afternoon so spends there were zero! Had lovely chats and put the world to rights so I'm feeling better for it. Shame I have to go to work now and spoil it all!!

  • Hey PLMBL

Do you think you have tempted fate with the title of your diary? :) In all seriousness, I'm so sorry to hear you've been in hospital, you poor thing. I really hope you enjoy your holiday and there are absolutely no mishaps along the way, you really aren't in line for any!

It made me chuckle that your MIL has given your sons £5 to go on holiday with. I recently went on a family holiday with my sister's kids and my Mum gave them each a pound! Wouldn't even get them a stick of rock. She's turning into my grandma, she'll be handing out the choc ices soon. :rotfl:

Chats with friends are so good and so cheap, aren't they? :)

  • Well we are back and we had a fantastic time :j.

The 'holidays house' as my 2 year old called it was just fabulous. Absolutely perfect with fresh eggs from the chickens in the garden, homemade biscuits to greet us on arrival and plenty of board games to keep us all entertained.

We saw an 11,500 year old waterfall which was amazing, and a super impressive fireworks display (which we were lucky enough to have great views of from the cottage saving us the £10 per family viewing fee :D).

Fudgie, I know what you mean about Grandma's pennies not stretching very far these days, but actually my 2 managed to do quite well with theirs thanks to the village sweetshop and a hardware shop that sold little toys. I also bought them a new toothbrush each from the little chemist for only £1 each. They had Spiderman / Hulk figures attached and you would have thought I'd bought them the winning lottery ticket they way they've clutched onto and played with them the last 2 days!! Not to mention the extra long brushing of teeth :T.

It was just great to get away from everything and relax.

Got another scan tomorrow. I've lost more 'stuff' recently and this time it was different so I'm hoping against hope that it's been the tissue that needed to come away. Fingers crossed I don't need the op Xx
