Do you / SA read the occasional article in the Daily Mail about a woman's experiences as her husband recovers from head injuries? This week was particularly interesting about the effect of fireworks on him (starting with Diwali last week and dreading bonfire night). exDH was very bothered by noise, and couldn't cope with background noises if trying to participate in a conversation. That seems to have echoes with the tunnel vision Mr L and Mr SA experience.

exDH's long term memory probably came back slowly starting about 3-5 years on. I guess there's no "normal" timespan, though.

    Hi lucky
I am so sorry that you had such a fright with OH. It must be vfery hard to keep hoping for the best and getting the worst. At least this time he was OK. By the way did you tell Beavers you were going to stop? I know I am coming to the discussion late, but I think you should too

  • Hi Satchmo/Beanie, thanks for pointing me in the direction of those articles. I've just read them online with interest. The recent one about noise makes sense to me in the way Mr L reacts sometimes to the boys playing. To me, he over reacts when I think they are just making a normal amount of 'boys noise', yet Mr L goes on as if they are screaming at the top of their lungs. Perhaps they are, in his head! I also could relate to the 'There's only one me in this you-niverse' article. I have different things to deal with than Rebecca but it's all very similar. I feel so sorry for the girl as I know she is at the start of a very long journey.

Chev, I still haven't told my GSL I'm thinking of leaving (other than the email which wasn't truly acknowledged. I see him face to face on Tuesday night at a meeting so hopefully I can say something then. I talked to the girl at the Carer's Centre about my plans to leave Beavers and she wasn't as supportive as I thought she'd be. I honestly thought she'd be in favour of me reducing the stress of it all, but she actually asked how I would ensure I spent all the hours I normally spend on Beavers, on myself?! How would I make sure that time wasn't eaten up by the boys or DH? My cousin goes to an clubbercise (exercise) class on a Monday night that I fancy doing but can't because of Beavers. Perhaps I could do that instead?!

  • November didn't start quite as I'd hoped!

A bird poo'd IN MY EYE!! Yes, really!!

DS2 ran off while everyone was busy helping me out :(. Thankfully DS1 and DH found him but .

Work was very quiet last night. Managed to splash pizza sauce IN THE SAME PIGGING EYE!!!

DS2 was sick in his bed last night :(. Just once and think it was as a result of coughing violently, but I had to change the bed etc.

Spent a lot of money yesterday including £30 diesel, £30 shopping in Mr A's after work, £15 on lunch out with Grandma etc and £29 taking the boys and DH rock climbing . Feeling the pinch now until Tuesday Xx

  • :rotfl:There are better ways than pizza sauce for cleaning out bird poop. I hope it's ok now.

    October xx
  • Hi PLMBL, a bird pooing on you is supposed to bring you good luck, fingers crossed its true.

    Take care.x.
  • Oh my goodness... in your eye?!?! I am sorry for this.. :rotfl: *pulls straight face* - one pooed on Jelly on the way to nursery a few months ago. She was covered... And it went through 2 layers of clothes! Nursery teachers all laughed when I explained so I feel ok laughing at you. But serious I hope you got it rinsed out ok. Agree with October, there are better ways to clean it than Pizza sauce!?! ;) Hugs!!

Pennywise is very right, it is supposed to bring good luck! So here is hoping for some good news.

I have no idea how you still manage such inroads into the debt with the boys off school! Well done you :D and hope Tuesday goes well with the Beavers boss. I wouldn't really call Beavers time 'me time' so I think sod the carers lady, cut Beavers out and use a small portion of the time on actual ME time and you will soon feel much better!!

    Hugs! xx
