Your date night sounded lovely. What a good idea.

I am sorry the carer's centre can't help you have a night away. :(

I don't want to worry you but the 'fiddling' can sometimes be a type of seizure. We were trained in what to look out for in school when I was teaching. We had an amazing head teacher.

I would try for that funding anyway. It sounds like the "interview" I had earlier this year when I got £200. As far as I knew it came from the county council. They hoped mine would be spent on a night away but realistically how could I have? In an ideal world maybe - you know how it is.

Hope Mr Lucky's fiddling turns out to be nothing.

    Take care xx

  • Thanks all. One of the questions she asked me before she talked about the fund was the name of my GP practice, and then told me about it anyway so there is still hope. It may be that it doesn't actually matter about the GP, or that she made a mistake in telling me about it. The problem is I go to a practice that has a name similar to one on the list, so she may have confused them both. All I can do is ask.

Pooh, thanks for your concern re DH. Truth is, he gets so absorbed in something that the house could burn down around him and he wouldn't notice, so I don't think it's seizure related. He's been given a heart rate monitor and he was trying to work out how it worked, and at that point nothing else mattered to him. He can only concentrate on one thing at a time and the heart monitor interested him more!! All that said, I am still keeping an eye on him as he seems a little slow tonight.

Today has been a NSD :T. Number 7!!

    Morning PLMBL,

I hope you can get funding for a trip away that would be lovely for you! Ridiculous that only certain GP surgeries can get it though, that surely can't be right!!

Enjoy your half term with the boys, Ive also been very much looking forward to it :) xx

  • Didn't post yesterday as I went out for tea with friends :T. It was my cousin, who I've always been close to as we are the same age and grew up together, and my dear friend who lost her daughter at New Year (my 16 year old Goddaughter). It was both happy and sad, but overall we had a lovely, lovely time catching up and reminiscing, and we have promised to do it more often. Only spent £11 too!

Apart from that we had DH's Endocrinology appointment at hospital (sodium still low end of normal range to sticking with 2400mg of tablets per day to keep it there!), took the boys to soft play, did a bit of food shopping and played games in the house. Day 1 of half term done!!

  • Hi PLMBL, I have my fingers crossed for you, I really hope you get the funding you deserve it.

Hope you have a nice half term week with the kids.

    Take care.x.
  • Thanks pwps, hope your half term is fab too.

Had a nice chilled day yesterday with the family, met for coffee at a country park so the boys got some exercise too. Spent £7 but Grandma gave me £5, so only £2 spent overall! Enjoyed being off work last night too, last week's double shift suddenly seemed oh so worth it!

Today we took the boys swimming (£2), was conned into a McDonald's for them (£9 ), bought diesel (£30) and spent £28 in Mr M's. Very spendy day and a shock to the system!!

While we were swimming in the small pool, DH wanted to do a few lengths in the big pool and DS1 wanted to go with him. Off they went and then DH returned to the small pool alone, he'd forgotten DS1! This in itself wasn't a major problem as DS1 is a good little swimmer and could find his way back to us if needs be, but it was a stark reminder of how bad DH's memory can actually be. Fancy forgetting your own child! In contrast, this afternoon we all watched The Goonies, and DH kept saying "watch this next bit" etc, as he remembered it from years ago (it was his favourite film as a kid). Weird how it all works!

Glad to hear you've had a good weekend Lucky and not before time! Sometimes you just can't help the spendy days they're a fact of life unfortunately.
