  • Thank you so much again everyone, I honestly don't know what I'd do without you!

Had a good talk (and a bubble) with DH this morning. He basically just affirmed everything you all thought about his feelings while being away. Apparently BM corrected him a lot and made him feel unable to make decisions, so it sparked a lot of feelings of not being who he once was, and I got the backlash of that. He appreciates that that was wrong and unfair, and the straw that broke the fragile lucky camel's back. I do feel better, but not 'fixed'.

I need to stop wallowing in self pity and get on with things. I don't like the way I look, specifically my weight, but I am trying to change that. It's getting me down how slowly it's going at the minute but I need to look at how far I've come, as well as how far I still have to go.

DS1 had a tantrum this morning because I wouldn't give him any money for a book fair in school. It's not often I say no so he really doesn't react well and that disappoints me. I didn't have much when I was younger so I constantly try to over compensate and give the boys as much as I can. Turns out I have created ungrateful monsters and haven't taught them how to accept the word no. Another fail. DS2 was crying because he didn't want to go to school which is very unusual, and he couldn't give me any reason why. I'm wondering whether my depressed mood has upset him? Fail again!

I found a mobile phone on the ground outside school this morning so handed it in. Hoping karma will reward me with either some happiness or a win on the Euromillions!! Either would do! Xx

Don't be so hard on yourself. You haven't given up! Yes there are things you don't like and there are things you wish you could change instantly but you are working towards making those changes, even if it is one small step at a time. You are doing amazingly well and this is just a low patch. You WILL get where you want to be. :j
    October xx
  • Thank you October :A. Are you a cheer leader in real life?? :p. You have oodles of positivity and I appreciate you passing some my way.

Tonight has been better. I lost a pound (lb not ££!) so at least something is off and I'm back in the next stone down. DH bought me flowers and my 2 hour scouts meeting was cancelled :T.

    See, karma!!

  • :j Well done on the lb loss!

I am not usually so positive but everyone on this site has really supported me. Just reading diaries and seeing progress has helped me not feel so scared about my own situation. A lot of these diaries have had you and Beanielou cheering them on and you seemed to need a little extra cheering so I thought I'd have a go :)

Hope today is a fab one for you

Yay well done on weight loss. Another stone is a great achievement.

I know it maybe doesn't help the situation but it is definitely the case that those who are hurting lash out at those closest to them.

When DS2 lashed out at me recently I talked to Mr P about it. I was very hurt and asked him why he did it to me when very depressed and now DS2 is doing it. He said it is the people who love and care the most who get the backlash. It is because they know that you care for them that they feel comfortable with giving vent to their feelings. That made me cry too. But I now feel I understand after 20 years of caring for Mr P. I hope this helps you too.

I hope you have a lovely day today xx

  • Thanks Pooh, that makes sense, I'm just sorry you know what it feels like to be on the receiving end. October, I'm glad you are getting the support you need from MSE (not that I would ever doubt it!). I'll have a wee nosy in a minute to see if you have a diary.

Well, I got my wish and won on the Euromillions. A whole £2.80 :rotfl:. Maybe I should be more specific in my request to win the lottery next time :p.

Feeling much more myself today. I always seem to have a wobble mid-cycle but the last few days were extra horrific. Not sure if it was hormonal or not, or whether hormones just made the situation worse?? Anyway, DH and I decided to spend some quality time together, so after we'd been to the gym this morning we came home and got showered and changed then went on a 'date'. We had lunch out at an Italians and even though it cost over £20 and wasn't diet friendly, we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was nice to get dressed up a bit and just enjoy each other's company.

    Parents evening for DS2 later!

The 'date' sounds lovely and well worth the £20 if you had a great time. :j

At least you had your 'win' to put towards it. :rotfl:
  • Seems you and me both decided blow the diet, and have some quality time Lucky. I had a lovely fry up and a costa hot chocolate out yesterday and it was food for the soul rather than my body. Fabulous to see you doing the same and blow the consequences. Well worth £20 indeed.

Yay to the lb off!! Well done you! :D
