  • Hooray for admitting it!!! :D Hopefully he will draft in some help! Yay for free cinema too! One of my favourite books (actually 2 of my favourite books!) is out in the cinema soon and I am desperate to go! Maze Runner... such an incredible book, I cannot see how the film could make it bad. And Gone Girl. The creepiest book I have ever read...

Really have to go to sleep! xx :o night again xx

  • Just a quick update before it all kicks off here in terms of getting everyone ready for the day.

Yesterday was a NSD :j. So much easier to achieve them when the boys are at school!

GSL emailed back. Not a massive response, just that he didn't want to lose me as a leader and if I need any help I just have to ask.

Carer's Centre rang and have given me an appointment with one of their support workers next week. I think that might mean counsellor but not 100% sure!

Beavers went ok. Gym was good in the morning, one girl I've never spoken to actually stopped me to congratulate me on my weight loss :D.

    ?? Cheeky so-and-so!
Email back saying you have asked for help in your previous message.
Personally, I would add that next week will be your last for the time being - but if your health improves you may be able to return in the new year.

Given that you are a volunteer and neither of your boys goes to Beavers, more than that really cannot be expected of you.
..Time for another parent to step up.

Fingers crossed they have some practical help to offer as well as tea and sympathy!

Another agreeing with *Robin*, what did he think the email was if not a plea for help?!

  • Hi Lucky,

Excellent news on the carers centre. I really hope you get to sit down with someone, and sort out what you can get from there and what you need from them. Probably the first session would be similar to your phone call, an assessment of your needs and a little chat and then from there on they can offer some real support/counselling. I really hope you start to gain some positives from getting in touch with them.

Ref the Beavers Leader, sounds like he didn't read very much into your email (although he is a man) - I have to ask, exactly how far did you go when you said to him you were struggling? Did you intimate that you were thinking of stopping or just that it was getting a bit too much.

I think, only you know what you said, and he is a man, so potentially he only read on the surface of what you wrote. Maybe try going back with a more detailed explanation of what you are feeling and ask if some other parent or volunteer could take the reins for a while, whilst you get yourself back on track.

And... :T hooray for random strangers noting weight loss!! That must have given you a welcome boost!! :)

Big hugs to you as ever flower. You juggle balls 100x better than people I have paid to see... ;) xx
