Hi Lucky, :hello:
Oh happy news re MrL's camping trip with his paramedic mate! This is positive on so many fronts I can think of - sorry, haven't got time to list them all now - but it will be a great milestone for you too, dear Lucky, so please try not to worry in advance. (((hugs)))
Well done for successful MSE shopping too, and 'beating' MrL on the scales this week.0 -
So many lovely messages :A.
Robin, to clarify, DH is going away with Best Mate (BM) not Paramedic Mate(PM), though I trust both equally. Although PM is medically trained, I know BM has DH's best interests at heart and will look after him for me. There will be plenty of medics around due to the race anyway, but when it was first discussed they were going to be sharing a tent which made me feel happier incase DH seizured through the night. Now they are having their own tents, albeit next to each other, and I'm worried a seizure would be undetected. The nights definitely worry me more than the days.
Granny, I'm supposed to be working on the Saturday night and will probably still have to do so. I promise to chill out as much as possible the rest of the time though!
Lilt, you are no more crazy than I am! Don't know how much of a positive that is though :rotfl:.
SA, Gok would have his work cut out with me too!! He'd probably like my 'bangers' though as he seems to have a thing for those.
Thank you for the bra fixing info Pooh and Sparky, but this one has had it's day. It only cost £10 ages ago and has been worn to death. I shall try those things when the next one sends itself to the kn@ck3rs yard!
Mrs H, I certainly don't think it was Mr L's medication increase that made him gain weight! It was more to do with the pizza, rocky road, granola slices, danish pastries, chocolate peanuts, ice cream etc etc. He cost me a fortune last week!!
Actually, he costs me a fortune all the time!! As does DS1 who has come home from school tonight with a letter requesting £192 for the school trip. He also cost me £5 today for an author-signed book during a 'free' English trip that he was selected to go on as a privilege/treat for his hard work. Just looked at the book and it isn't signed
.
Today we have been to the gym and to Mr M's to stock up on fruit and veg so we can get back on track. I want 4lbs off this week!! I also managed to get a load of washing line dried :T
Mr L is currently sulking. DS2 had a bit of a meltdown earlier and he didn't handle it well. They ended up screaming at each other and DH went straight to punishment without using the warning process which blew up the situation even more. I told him that he'd not followed the plan and he isn't really talking to me now. Silence is golden!

haha at least DH enjoyed himself before his weight gain!! I would be disappointed with DS1's school trip, sounds like he might have enjoyed it though? what are they doing for £192? Can you get any help from the school with that?
Most importantly I hope that you are not going too crazy with all the blown up situations.
Good luck with the 4lbs I know you can do it! x

Cheers Sparky! The £192 trip is a 3 day/2 night residential stay at an Activity Centre in March, doing all the things that are right up his street, like Rock Climbing and zip wiring etc. I know he will have a fab time, but £192 . His last school had a fund that would help with costs but his new school doesn't, however we are able to pay in four instalments.
Today we have had a bit of a sort out of our outhouse and a subsequent trip to the tip. I feel good for having done it and less likely to break a leg on the way to the washing machine!! I also called our mortgage provider as our direct debit came out today for £75 not £140 as usual. This has happened once before, but I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a mistake before I hung the flags out. Apparently that was all I owed to bring the account up to date this month, and it will return to the £140 in November. This is such a welcome bonus, especially in light of the school trip etc.Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Great news on the mortgage Lucky!! Lovely to get little unexpected surprises like that. It is why I still pay for the council tax over 10 months... :rotfl: I love my two free months!
DS1's activity centre stay sounds like one I went on when I was a kid with school. I don't know how much money my mum put towards it but she often went without shoes, clothes and even food to make sure these things happened for me. Hand on heart it was a really stand out experience for me. I still remember being the ONLY kid to get to the top of the rock climbing wall, other than 2 of the 'helpers' who were 6 years older. It has been 18 years since I was there...! One day he is going to realise just what a fantastic mum he has, just as I know now.
Hugs! xx

Lucky the adventure holiday sounds great. And brilliant news on the cheaper mortgage this month.
When my family had school trips we found out about an education foundation which covered our area and paid £50 towards their trips. I have had a look and there is one in your area. I applied in my child's name. They were allowed to apply for one school trip. When DD was older she got funding towards her uni trip away to Vietnam but the boys all had £50 towards their primary adventUre week cost.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Hi Lucky, I hope you're feeling less stressed this week?? See Mr L being away as respite time for yourself, please don't spend the whole time worrying. (I know easier said than done....)
Poohs idea of seeing if you can get help from that education foundation is a good one. I've never heard of anything like it, but if it's even a little off what you need to pay then try itMy eldest went on a similar trip in year 6 and he absolutely loved it, it was worth every penny
. His most recent trip was around £400 (including pocket money) for a 4 day trip to Wales for geography! Nearly had a heart attack when I saw the cost but I was able to pay in installments too thankfully

Evening!!
Bless you Lilt, what a kind thing to say! The younger you sounds just like DS1, he'd be the only one to climb to the top too!
Pooh, thank you so much for the grant idea but I've just had a quick look online and can't find anything for Newcastle. Actually, I can but it's for Newcastle, Australia (or was it America??). If you could let me know the details of the one you found I'd appreciate it Xx
Sparky, I'm still thrilled about the mortgage! It will make things so much easier!
DF(w), Aunt Flo has arrived and everything seems calmer. I do think the whole Beavers/work/chicken pox/seizure saga was heightened due to hormone imbalance, but I still intend to pursue taking a step back.
Today has been another NSD :T. DH went out for a cycle with Paramedic Friend, and I had a cuppa with my best mate. Bliss!Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
