Just caught up with your last week, such a lot has happened. Well done on getting into your old clothes - that must be such a boost. On the rare occasions in my life where that's happened to me I've danced about in my pants for hours. :D I'm glad to hear you've had your hair done too, good for your wellbeing all over I would say.

You do sound exhausted, so have a hug from me and another random yellow friend. :grouphug:Good that you've reached out to the Carer's Centre, hopefully they'll be giving you some much needed support soon. Funny how sometimes these things turn up when you need them most.

  • Evening all!

So lovely to read all your messages :A.

Another fraught weekend! Mum offered to have the boys sleep over at her house last night, after she could tell how frazzled I was on the phone. She had plans yesterday though, so she didn't collect them from DH & MiL (I was at work) until 7pm. It was supposed to give me a relaxing night off, but unfortunately I made a mistake at work last night and it had me worrying all night. I did ring my boss to confess and she said not to worry, but it has still made me on edge incase any customers complain. Being sensible I think I'm over reacting, but I feel like I'm not coping with anything at the moment. Everything seems to be piling on top of me and suffocating me :(.

Mum delivered the boys back at 9.45am this morning , totally unexpectedly and I was in the shower! Anyway, having them back stopped me moping about work!

This afternoon I met my Grandma and Auntie for coffee. Love those ladies! Then we went to buy DS1 a mobile phone so I can locate him when he goes out to play, after I walked one way to find him and he walked home the other way so we missed each other! I was just going to buy him a £10 brick of a phone but he wanted something a bit posher, so he paid half for a £40 phone. If he loses it I shall throttle him!!

Engineer coming tomorrow between 8am-1pm. Fingers crossed for a resolution!

    'Morning Lucky, :hello:

..Fingers duly crossed that the engineer A) turns up B) finds the fault which C) turns out not to be on 'your' side of the 'phone wiring (ie. avoids being presented with a bill).
Plus D) fixes the problem, of course!

Wonder how many times DS2 got Granny up in the night? Or whether the boys bickered first thing - to make her bring them back so early?

Have you not got a RL mate similar to yours-truly-ten-years-ago? ..With a houseful of kids already, so a couple more sleeping over regularly just adds to the fun?

Don't worry about the mistake you made at work, dear Lucky - well done for confessing, but your supervisor has said it's not a problem (nice person to work for :)).
..But it is another sign suggesting you would be well advised to cut back on unnecessary responsibilities.. Have you thought any more about that?

    (((Hugs)))

    Hello Lucky!!

Was it mum or MiL who had the boys and let them ring at 7am that time? She hasn't really gotten the hang of actually helping you out by taking them eh? No fun if all you can do is come home from work, go to bed, then get up, shower and there they are at the door! Still it did take your mind off other things...

Sorry to hear about the mistake at work but I wouldn't worry too much about it! And yes you are too tired and too fraught to be juggling so many balls in the air.

Hope you have a chilled out day today. Is DS2 back at school? xx

    Thank you both Xx

No engineer as yet . Waited in all day (which I actually secretly enjoyed but DH has been prowling like a caged animal), missed the gym (but caught up with the ironing!), but when I rang they said the engineer is still coming he has just been delayed. Will just have to wait and see.

ETA, he has just turned up!!!!

DS2 has gone back to school :D.

Robin, I'm going to talk to the girl who helps me at Beavers tonight and see how she feels about maybe taking over from me. At least then I'll know how the land lies before I talk to the Group Scout Leader.

Lilt, yes that was my Mum with the 7am call too! Xx

Good luck with DS1 and his phone. Don't want to worry you but my four have lost 17 phones between them!!! And now they are in their twenties it is just one or two broken a year instead of lost. I met some lovely people who had been sold my kids phones. I just rang the number constantly until someone gave in and answered me.... Managed to get three back :)

Try not to worry about work. I think that when you are already running on fight or flight anything that goes wrong is amplified. That is what I find and then I worry far too much.

I hope your helper agrees to take over Beavers. We helped at Beavers many years ago. It was fun but boy was it tiring. I also hope your helper gets some help too.

When I ran the guides parents kept telling me how bad I looked. No offers of help though :) I had my three boys with me too as Mr P was too ill to look after them. Not many boys have been to Brownie and Guide camp :D

I have got Mr P to sit and watch some quiz programmes as he was also acting like a caged animal. He isn't used to being indoors during the day:D

  • I have wifi again :j. So pleased!!

Pooh, I think you hit the nail on the head with things being amplified when you are already stressed. My stomach has been churning and I've either not been able to eat or not been able to stop eating! Ridiculous really!

Mr L has been pottering about doing jobs this afternoon and has faired a little better for being busy.

 to 17 lost phones!!! Think I'll put it on a chain around his neck! Xx

YAYYYYYY to wi-fi!!! Sure you need some money back for the time you were without it ;) and for the inconvenience? :D

Glad you are speaking to Beavers helper. Maybe it is what she has been waiting for, you never know until you ask!! Hope it can have a happy ending and a less stressful one for you!!

    Hi Lucky
I am sorry that things have been so tough for you recently. I think it would be fair to say that we have been gently telling you to ease up for a while. The human body can only stand being under constant stress for so long, before it starts breaking down. You have been under this stress for how long now?

So yes you may have to give up some things you do, but also dear Lucky, you need some time out that is guaranteed. Dear lady will you please think again about respite care for Mr L? I know you like to rely on family but they have their own lives and don't always give you the break that is needed. Would paramedic friend have him for 24 hours say? Or is that asking too much. You aren't a failure if you admit you need professional help, even if it was for 1 day a month.

Please take this comment in the spirit is it offered, from concern for you.
