  • Well done on getting under £3.5k, that's brilliant. You've done so well to keep it up during the school holidays too.
I never have any useful advice about spouses or children as I have neither, but I'm glad OH has calmed down and I hope you're having a nice relaxing evening (although I bet you're a bit nervous for DS1 too!). xx

  • Oh dear Satchmo, I'm sorry to have prompted that flash back :(. I'll be sure to keep an eye on his temper but today I feel has been on the back of the several focal seizures he had yesterday, rather than a normal occurrence. It's scary to think of going down that road.

Fudgie, I've found debt repayments hard over the last 6 weeks but I'm pleased to have kept going with it to a smaller extent. I'm nervous for DS1 but in a 'sure he'll be fine' way. Looking forward to having him back tomorrow in one piece and hearing all about his day Xx

Don't feel bad, Lucky, as ex-DH's situation was entirely different, as doctor explained they actually expected ex's capacity to deteriorate.

We now actually have an amicable relationship where we can talk, although we didn't speak for at least 5 years as I couldn't be sure it would be peaceable.

I hope DS1 sleeps ok tonight, he does get very anxious. Has he got a friend who will be on the bus, too?
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
  • Bless DS1. Almost worse having to go to 'new school' more times! Hope he sleeps well, and you do too.

  • Everyone slept well and DD2 actually slept right through for the first time in weeks :T.

Boys boys looked lovely in their uniforms. We all walked DS1 to the bus stop and I was disappointed to see that the school bus was not only late but jam packed already, and ours was only the second village to be collected! They still had more to get! Anyway, he will have been at school about an hour now so hopefully all is well. We then walked along and dropped DS2 at reception, where he went in no bother.

DH has just gone out for a bike ride with paramedic friend so I'm all alone!! It's bliss Xx

It must be hard for both you and Dh dealing with the fall out of his brain injury. He must get so frightened not remembering what he just ate etc and it also must be very wearing and hard work for you to keep your patience reminding him all the time.

My mum had Meningitis and is left with an extremely non existent short term memory and just visiting her for a couple of hour is exhausting, so I can just imagine how tired you get coping day in day out. I think you are waaaay more amazing than you realise.

Hope kiddo's went off to school well this morning, mine go back tomorrow, so one more day of bickering and moaning for me ;).

Hope you are feeling better and you have managed to rest abit. Sad you have had to have a car battery for your birthday, but with the debt, we haven't had presents for years either. Definitely something I plan to change once we are debt free. Going to have a "mum & dad birthdays" savings pot instead of always being about the children. :D

Hope things get a little easier for you now you have children off to school, maybe Dh has been struggling more than usual because he is so tired from everything. Fingers crossed it gets a little better soon. xxxx

Lucky you can't have a car battery for your birthday. You must get yourself something no matter how small. You work so hard for your family I hope they appreciate it. Hope you enjoyed your time alone this morning.

Sorry to be in disagreement, but a car without a decent battery is simply an annoyingly expensive, large metal sculpture which clutters up one's outside space!

Given the choice of a birthday battery, or life for Lucky being much more difficult than it already is - just because the car won't start - seems a complete no-brainer to me?

I have actually chosen a new battery a couple of times when asked what gift I'd like - then every time I turned the key and felt the engine burst into life, it produced happy, grateful thoughts towards the dear family and friends who cared enough to give me something useful, rather than yet another dust-catching knick-knack which ended up in a charity shop (or crammed into a cupboard when from someone who'd be mortally offended if their 'treasure' were to be passed on).
  • Hi lucky loving catching up on your diary, great news that the boys have been sleeping well and hope school was enjoyable for them!

Sorry to hear about DH, mine is simply jealous because I am doing well in my job and moving up the ladder whereas he is a bit stuck in a rut. But he is likely to get a rather large bonus at the end of Oct so shouldnt complain!

I hope that your DH understands that sometimes he has these moods because of his injuries, he might not remember but you do.

Dont forget what a great job you are doing, amazing result with your debt!! xx
