  • Aw thanks anyway Beanie, that was very kind of you. We have the sleeping bags already but no sleeping mat. (Haven't ever considered there was such a thing lol). Will see if I can borrow one but will see how much they are too. If they aren't too expensive we might be better to buy one as he will need it more and more when he goes up to Scouts Xx

Surely for a midgety small a yoga mat would do the same thing from sports direct? All it is is a thin bit of foam to stop the damp and cold coming up from the floor!

I have chooooobs of bepwhatsit! When I had my tats done they told me to use Vaseline or aqueous cream. And to keep it wrapped in cling film for 3 days, unwrapping once a day to rinse it in warm water, reapply the cream and film it back up. Both mine healed perfectly. Every tat place is different, wish they would all get on the same page as I bet DH takes the advice right to heart and refuses anything other than bepblah :(

  • You know DH so well Lilt! Good idea re yoga mat too Xx

Can't sleep. DH is jerky of epic proportions, I swear he might hit his nose on the ceiling next time :(. He's also rambling in his sleep (which he never normally does), something about disabled librarians???:rotfl::eek:.

Think it's gonna be a long night :(.

Does the school have a second hand shop? Also maybe you qualify for a school uniform grant? ( I know they used to do these).

Do think about the dog. Maybe at least call them up and see if the idea is a goer. I only briefly looked at the website so don't know what the criteria are

Could you put a plea on Facebook and/or Freecycle to see if anyone has any of the items you need?

There must be loads of people who don't go camping any longer and plenty of kids that have outgrown their old stuff.

Could you post on here what you need to see if any regulars have anything?

Hope you managed to get some sleep last night

Well helloooo CD :D. Thank you for stopping by my humble diary! I do understand what you mean about how useful dogs can be and it's making more and more sense for us to let one adopt us. I will continue to give it much thought.

I'm afraid the naughty zoo people said no dogs allowed. Apparently some of the animals that live there get scared by dogs. They must be very silly!

Tickles behind the ear for you and love to Robin Xx

Thank you for not being cross I came into your diary, Mrs Lucky. :)

I guess you didn't grow up with a dog in your family - or if I'm wrong, it was a naughty dog?
Even I, another dog can understand you would be a-pre-hen-sive [my word of the day! :D] about a puppy joining your household. They are a lot of work and messy. But a grown-up, clever well-trained dog knows how to behave and would have a job in your family not just be a pet. For example last night such a dog would have warned you if Mister was getting ill. You could have [STRIKE]seen[/STRIKE] known whether you could go to sleep without worrying - one responsibility taken off your strong shoulders. One thing a dog can see better with the nose than a human person can see with their eyes.

And Mister would be safe walking with a trained dog. They even have a special coat with words on - so if something goes wrong any human person nearby will be able to help quickly.
Wouldn't it be good for Mister to walk outside every day?

Go on. Fill in the on-line form and see what happens. You won't be committed at the beginning anyway, and the people will be able to explain much better than me.
Yes I guess it costs money for dog food, but I thinks these helping-dogs can get special in-sur-ance [wow two new words today! :D] from the people who train them.
I knows two dogs at homehome who do this job, they are both lovely and maybe even cleverer than me? :)

I is upset the zoo people would not let me go there - I knows how to behave when visiting other not-human peoples!
Mistress is looking for something to do in that place for a day. She says we are going there to visit some children.

Before then, Mistress said we are going to my favourite animal park anyway, where they are much more civilised about letting in well trained dogs:

    http://www.turismocantabria.es/es/que-ver-en-parque-de-cabarceno/65#descripcion

Mistress will have to find another attraction to enjoy with children in Scotland, where I will also be welcome. ;)

Wags and loving licks to you Mrs Lucky, and Mister and Young Masters. <wagwagwaglicklick!>

Looks like we were both having bizarre sleepless nights last night. Everytime I drifted off, I dreamt about ovens and woke back up. DH and disabled librarians :rotfl: hahaha! Sad he won't accept anything other than bep@nthen though. Its the stickiest stuff ever, it just does NOT spread. Maybe you should prep the tattooist over the phone prior to future appt's?!?! 'please choose a cheaper cream!'

Beanie I think they come in all colours, purple included: even saving £3.99 would be good - I can't tell the difference between a yoga mat and sleeping mat!
