Sorry DF(w) I had started my reply before I saw your post. I do like the idea of a dog and I genuinely love dogs, I just worry about the extra cost and (dare I say it?) work, even though I know we will get more than enough assistance/love/peace of mind back. I haven't done anything about it yet because I literally haven't stopped all week, but I pinky promise I will XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

What?! Where did you learn this magical Sun newspaper deal? Do I put aside the 40p tonight and earn myself a spend free day tomorrow? Does it count as one anyway if I get £5 worth of stuff for 40p? How much watermelon can £5 get you?!
hahaha. (Mr M's is the only place I find it impossible to leave without buying watermelon)
As for the dog, having had a beautiful one, with a temperament of gold, I have to say I am all for having one. But I won't sugar coat it; he was a lot of work. He cost about £30-40 a month in food, not to mention tennis balls. He turned my garden to mud, chewed £400 of DVD box sets. HOWEVER, he provided endless affection, made me get off my bum day after day to exercise him and myself, kept my home safe, and was so intuitive about my moods some days he would just snuggle up to me and not let go. If he had been pre-trained and a bit older when I got him as an assistance dog would be, then maybe his 'faults' wouldn't have been such an issue. And I have to say it would be incredible peace of mind for you. Anyways thats my two pen'orth.

Lilt I think you just made the idea real. Ridiculously, I haven't been thinking about the actual animal and you just brought him/her to life.
I saw the voucher thing on Facebook and we all know that is never wrong :rotfl:. Please check the paper before you part with your 40p, and make sure there is indeed a voucher and the terms are as stated XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Not even for a lifetime's supply of fruit would I buy that rag - they have never been forgiven in Liverpool for the lies they printed (and never retracted) about "drunken Liverpool fans" being responsible for the tragedy of Hillsborough. I used to sell about 50 copies a day: post-Hillsborough no-one would touch it.
In very un-MSE news, I certainly got plenty of exercise today. I parked in a long-stay car park in Cheltenham, then couldn't find the car park this evening. I walked for about 40 minutes before I had to go into a pub and ask the nice barman to get me a taxi. Ah well, it was beginning to get dark, so safety comes before the £5.50 it cost me in taxi fare (no, I didn't buy a drink). What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
Hi lucky I heard about Mr M voucher but not close enough to one to make it worth while (would spend £4 getting there etc) so only a 60p saving.
Hows the weight going? Hope you are still determined! I've stayed the same for a few weeks but havent really been trying and glad I haven't put it on! x

Satchmo, I'm all for standing up for what you believe in, but right now I believe in free fruit/veg/salad so I've been a scab and crossed the picket line
. You can spend the voucher any day between today and Sunday, in store or online. I may actually buy another paper or two! So glad you found your car eventually!!!
Sparky I'm still sticking to the plan. That 3 stone award will be mine this week!!!Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Ahoy!! Glad, (or not so, depending on which way I swayed you :rotfl:) to be of assistance with the doglet idea.
I was a good girl, as I am trying very hard on the challenge thread not to spend today!! Therefore I did not get the voucher. Having thought about it, the £5 would have come at a price. The Mr M's near me is just far enough away to be a bit exotic once I get there (walking). I usually spend far too much on the deli counter and on their sausage rolls. I wouldn't be able to stop myself from buying them, thus rendering the £5 free fruit and veg (watermelon) null and void. :A hahaha
I am so excited for you to hit the 3 stone award! There is no way you won't hit it this week. If you somehow don't, then next week I will paint myself in camouflage and come and stand next to you when you weigh in, holding up your arm to take the weight off the scales :rotfl:

Had a bit of a scare today, thought DH was about to seizure on the treadmill at the gym . He was running fast (as he always does) and thankfully I was (doing my slow jog) on the treadmill next to his. He suddenly pressed his button to start slowing down and as he did so I could see he was chewing and his head sort of lolled back. I freaked and hit the stop button on his whilst trying not to fall off mine, whacked the stop button on mine and jumped onto his treadmill to catch him if he fell. Thankfully it didn't go to full seizure and I managed to get him off and sitting down. I got such a shock I was physically shaking. There had been no warning and I've sort of convinced myself that it wouldn't ever happen at the gym because we were told it was less likely during exercise, and I stupidly substituted less likely for 'won't happen' in my head.
We got home from the gym ok, leaving as soon as DH felt well enough, but he's had a couple of 'waves of fear' since. I don't think we are out of the woods today.Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
