  • Oops yes those quotes went a bit wrong didn't they :o. Amazing what a difference one little / can make!!

So I have tonsillitis. Again :( on antibiotics and hoping I'm well enough to take DH to his neuropsychiatrist appointment tomorrow and then work tomorrow night. Mentioned long AF and have to go back if still going beginning of next week.

DS2 had his nasal flu vaccine this afternoon so I've actually been to docs twice today. Think that's a record even for us!! :rotfl:. Bought him a donkey costume for his nativity today, he looks so cute in it. Was going to try and make one but he doesn't have a grey top and the costume was only £8 so seemed worth it. Especially as he is such a costume fiend and will get his use out of it.

Thanks for all the get well wishes everyone Xx

    Trying to shift that debt!
  • Neuropsychiatrist thinks DH is probably about as recovered from the Brain Injury in terms of memory etc as he is going to get. We just need to continue to use the strategies that we have been employing this far. The epilepsy of course is a seperate issue.

I managed work. Antibiotics kicked in this afternoon. Wrecked now though! Xx

Alas no. I still need to get more for DS1 but the money is sitting there ready. He's at a difficult age whereby he's too old for a lot of toys, but not old enough for more teenage type stuff so I'm struggling. I spoke to him about how his pile of presents might look like nothing compared to DS2's but I could assure him that Santa has the same budget for each of them! I still have more to buy for other members of the family too but it's well underway.

We are pottering in the house today. Mum is having the boys overnight tonight (:j) so they just wanted to stay in and play with their toys/xbox until they go. DH and I are going to paint the door frames while they are out so they will dry overnight and then just chill out. We did think about going out but sad as it is neither of us can be bothered and it's just spending money for the sake of it. Hopefully they will stay out again sometime soon and we can go out then.

Hi Lucky - I used to get tonsillitis on a regular basis. It got to the stage where they got infected every time (quinsy I think it's called) and they needed to come out. Suddenly it stopped at age 31 and never (touch wood) came back. I know just how awful it makes you feel so can totally empathise.

Enjoy your "free" evening with DH. Well done with the getting ahead with Xmas shopping! I haven't even got one thing yet - usually by now I'm nearly done but you know why my heart just hasn't been in it this year.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

  • Well Mum didn't come for the boys until 7pm last night, so by the time we finished painting and had tea there wasn't much of the evening left. I still appreciate the time off of course, especially as DH was jerky in his sleep again so I was awake until past 1am. I laid in until 10am to make up for it!!

Before the boys went, DH and DS2 had an in-tandem meltdown :(. DS2 started screaming because his brother had something he wanted. DH flipped (too quickly) and DS2 got so angry I thought he would burst. DH put him in his room and it all went mental. I honestly think it's learned behaviour from seeing his Dad get angry quickly and unfortunately that meant I had to deal with both of them. I read a great article about managing child anger and got DH to read it too. He's saved it on his phone so he can read it again and again. I hope it helps both of them (and me!).

Today the boys came back about 12.30pm. They hadn't had lunch as they'd had a late breakfast, but I had very little in anyway. We all went to Mr A's and then I got them a McDonald's as a late lunch. DH and I had leftovers at home before we went.

Yesterday was a NSD. Today certainly wasn't!!
