I agree about Beamish for a bucket list. I first went there in 1975!! And have seen it grow and change over the years.
I hope you all have a lovely day today and that you and DS2 managed a whole night's sleep in peace and no pain.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

I've no idea where Beamish is
(i'm going to google in a minute) and the castle and HP days sound great I love HP!! (will also google this...)
I was literally laughing out loud at all the 'talk' storiesvery funny lol!
And Plmbl, your poor DS!! Some kids eh
my friends little girl has broken her leg 2 weeks before they broke up for summer so she missed her last days in nursery and my ds2 party (they are best friends so were so upset they didn't get to play together at the party) she will be in plaster nearly all summer too i think. I'm lucky in the fact i've never broken a bone *touch wood* and neither have any of the kids. We've had lots of falls, sprains, twists but never a break yet! xx

Lucky you are really good at finding fun activity days for your boys (all three!
). The HP event at Alnwick sounds amazing! Great to look forward to.
Hope DS2's sore arm is settling down now and you're not being run ragged trying to keep him happy..please-let-me-be-lucky wrote:You should definitely put Beamish on the bucket list Fudgie! It's like stepping back in time and the old fashioned cinder toffee and sweeties are worth it all on their own

Robin, your story was my favourite really made me chuckle.
Didn't know about the origins of the Samaritans; how very tragic, but what a wonderful memorial to that young girl whose name has been lost to history..
Think my earlier comment re lack of 'the talk' with Mum was badly put. In order not to derail Lucky's diary, will explain on my own..0 -
Hope DS2 is fine asap!
Mean this in the nicest possible way, but it's refreshing to read about dramas and such like in someone else's diary! It gives me a temporary distraction from the drama's in our house!
And reading all 'The Talk' stories is hilariousWealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Pooh unfortunately we had a third disturbed night last night with poor DS2, but he slept in until 8.50am to make up for it so I don't feel too zombiefied today.
DFW I hope you liked what you saw when you googled. Beamish is a working open air museum not far from Durham. It has an old fashioned town with shops, a bank, a fairground and train station along with a pit village with houses, a church, a school, a colliery and a farm. All the staff wear clothes from the era and know a lot about how things worked etc. You travel round on trams and old buses and it's all genuine memorabilia.
Alnwick castle is one of the places Harry Potter was actually filmed. It's most famously the place where they learn to ride their broomsticks in the first film. It's an all round fab place anyway but they do cash in on their HP links.
Robin you can derail my diary anytime. Will pop over to yours for the next instalment!!
HAW I hope you get some peace soon. PM me anytime.
So today has been lovely. We made use of our new membership and went to a local English Heritage place, Belsay Hall and Gardens. They had a pirate challenge thing going on and the kids did a treasure hunt and dressed up as pirates. DS2 even managed one handed hobby horse riding :rotfl:. One of DS1's class mates was there too so they had a lovely time playing together. So pleased we went as we nearly decided against it as it threatened rain, but it ended up being lovely and sunny.
Called in to Mr T's on the way home as the cupboards, fridge AND freezer were all bare . Spent £70 after vouchers and discounts  Tonight DH's friend and his girlfriend called round with gifts for the boys because 'DS2 has been very brave' :A.Debts @ LBM £23,729.31. Hi Lucky, it sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday :-).
How nice of your friends to drop by with gifts for the boys. That must have been a lovely surprise!
Today is meant to be gorgeous too. I'm popping with the kids to the local park. It's huge and has plenty to do and a free museum about Captain Cook :-). Making a picnic - so I don't spend money. Just an ice-cream each @ £3 ish. Think I will take my camera too. Hubby bought it last year for my birthday and I haven't really used it properly yet :-(.
Hope you have another lovely day with your family.

Hope you have had a good night's sleep after yesterday's fun day out. Hope the weather is nice again today. It's raining here at the moment but not to worry as I'm off to spend my last day in the office for 3 weeks x

DS2 only woke once in the night last night so not too bad. We are back at fracture clinic tomorrow so fingers crossed the permanent plaster will make a positive difference. Bless him though, he has a marvellous green bruise popping out the top of his temporary plaster so I don't think it will look good when it comes off .
Enchanted I hope you had a lovely day at the park. We haven't been to that one before but it sounds fab. Today we went to Saltwell Park which was Brilliant. They have several kids play areas, a maze, a lake and lots of space to run around. We took a picnic so our only spends were £5 for us all to go on a dragon pedalo on the lake for half an hour. We even bypassed the ice cream van!! As we were leaving a fire engine arrived to do some rescue training in the lake, and the boys stood next to the engine for photographs. One lovely fireman got them some helmets to wear too :A which they thought was great and made for a fab photo.
I've been a bit worried the last couple of days as my pregnancy symptoms seem to have disappeared. I had been feeling quite sickly but it has all subsided and I'm worried things have gone wrong again. This has been heightened by one of the poor girls on the less than 12 weeks pregnant thread who went for her 12 week scan yesterday and found the baby had passed away at 9 weeks gestation. I feel so sorry for her but guiltily I have made it 'all about me' and I'm panicked. Anyway, today my mood swings have been IMENSE and DH has happily pointed out that although my sickness has subsided I'm still 'psycho' enough not to worry. Just can't wait to see that all is ok at my scan, but I haven't even received the date for that yet. I'm 10 weeks tomorrow.
Granny I hope your last day went well. HAW I replied to your PM. Mahoosive hugs XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j

Glad you had another good day yesterday, hope you had a good night's sleep too.
Its perfectly natural for you to worry after what you've been through but as you know worrying won't change anything, I'm pretty sure you've had so much to cope with recently, as usual for you, that you've not had time to feel unwell. Hugs anyway x
Hope all goes well at fracture clinic today
Working from home this morning and then off on hols tomorrow, can't wait
