    Hello Lucky, :hello:

    Enjoy DS2's performance - another milestone. :)
The hanging-baskets sound lovely - what a beautiful gift to choose for the girls who run playgroup.
  • The performance was so cute! I had no idea DS2 even knew that many songs!! Just showed what a good job the girls have done this year in playgroup and they deserved the hanging baskets we gave them (which they loved :j). I didn't cry amazingly, but have sobbed plenty tonight over something about homeless people on the tv tonight. I mean really!! !!!!!!?!

Really suffered with the heat today. I love the sun normally but today it made me feel sickly :( I've also had next to no appetite which is sooo not me!

My Mum has arranged for us to have free tickets to Beamish next week :j. She has earned brownie points for that :p

  • Nice quiet day overall today. Took DS2 to a new park nearby and then on to the farm shop to get eggs. Back home for lunch then walked MIL's doggy for her as she was out for the afternoon. Collected DS1 from school and then later treated the boys to MaccyD's for tea to celebrate the start of the summer holidays. :D

Two negatives for today though - rang the epilepsy clinic to chase up DH's appt as we have heard nothing since the beginning of June. Hospital said no referral made by GP. Rang GP who said referral was made in June and fault lies with hospital . Eventually got the GP's receptionist to agree to fax the referral to hospital and consultant's secretary said she will put DH on waiting list for appointment when she gets it!! This all happened just before 5pm so will ring again on Monday to check it's all been done. Angry though that we could have waited months if I hadn't rung to chase it, and it will still probably be months before appointment.

Secondly, we have tonight discovered a bluebottle problem :(:(:( I think they are coming down the unused chimney in the dinning room which is now just a feature in the room. This leads me to believe there is a dead bird or something up there :(. Nasty job for tomorrow to check that out.

Did I mention my Grandma is in hospital? She didn't get any better so they admitted her a few days ago and put her on a drip. They now think the main problem was a bad reaction to her new medication. I'm dying to visit her but feel I should stay away from hospitals unless totally necessary incase I pick up any bugs that threaten the baby. I feel selfish for that though :o.

Don't feel selfish, you are protecting your unborn child, an act that I'm sure Granny would support

    Hope she gets better soon

ohhhh that's so sad with your Granny! Could someone bring her down in a wheel chair and you go a wee walk outside? Such lovely weather that she would want to be out and then you are bug free?

Terrible re the appointment , good you checked! Keep on them the whole way so there is no other mistakes and make sure and ask to be at the top of the list for any cancellations!

Hope your granny gets better :( cxx
  • Thank you for your kind words Granny and BW. She isn't up to being outside just now but thats something to consider in the next few days.

Today has been spent battling flies!! I stripped the dinning room this morning and determined that they were definitely coming down the chimney. Apparently smoke bombs are no longer on sale to the general public, so instead we 90% sealed the fireplace with plastic sheet and masking tape and then DH sprayed a tin of fly spray up there through the gap before totally sealing it. There are several dead bodies behind the plastic now. It's most likely that a bird has fallen down the chimney and died, however from ground level the top of the chimney still seems covered so not sure how that could happen. DH's friend says he will come with ladders and check it out inthe next few days. The chimney hasn't been swept for donkey's years so not keen to start poking about in there .

Been at work 5-8 tonight. MIL and my Mum were both unable to stay with DH and the boys as they had their own plans. DH's friend was going to a BBQ but said he could stay with him for a while, so I had to take a leap of faith and trust they would be ok for the rest of the time. Thankfully all was well but I worried the whole time!

It feels like it has been a long day!!

  • Took the boys swimming this morning to a pool that had been recommended to us as it has a pirate ship for the kids to play in and a wave machine. It was really good but it cost £14.10  And that was only for 3 of us as DS2 was free as an under 5!! I felt violated paying that :rotfl:.

This afternoon we met my Mum and MIL at a cafe with an outdoor playing area. That was great as the boys got yet more exercise but that cost £15 . A very spendy day all in all.

I'm absolutely whacked! Didn't sleep very well last night, combination of an active mind after work and needing to pee every 5 minutes, so heading to bed shortly.

Hope everyone has had a good weekend Xx
