Morning
And breathe
Don't stress please! Hope you get DWP sorted sooner rather than later. They're well famous for c!!! ups unfortunately. They stopped OHs money for the 3rd (or 4th??) time last year as 'someone else' had submitted a claim, again, for the same children (yes, that would be his ex ). Despite already having proved before, more than once, he has full custody!!:mad: He ended up going to his local MLA to get them to sort it coz he was so hacked off. Even they couldn't get their heads around it!
Chin up please!!Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
Oh isn't that frustrating, B.Lucky? Lesson for you is; never send them anything that isn't festooned with your NI number, DH's ditto, and a pr!cis * of the reason you've sent them whatever they've asked for.Cant you scan & E mail them ? Or would that be just too simple for them !
As Lucky says, benefit claimants are untrustworthy [insert rude word of choice] in the eyes of the staff employed to help them.
What might work though; is if you say you can't afford childcare, fuel or city centre parking, will they accept documents faxed through from your local Post Office?
If not, try and claim your expenses back at the Jobcentre while you are there. Ask for the Manager, with any luck he/she will have more than one lonely braincell and a vague idea of the current rules.
In Spain the village Mayor can sometimes put his official stamp on copies of documents to send on, which is accepted as proof that the originals are genuine.
On the other hand, some things have to be handed in to government departments in person, no matter if the petitioner lives a hundred miles away from the administrative centre (no post allowed).
Good Luck with it anyway; eventually you will get it sorted out.
* interesting; MSE will not allow me to write p r e[accent egu] c i s (wonder why not? It isn't a rude word is it?).0 -

I did do this Robin, and included a covering letter of why they were sent in, including my request for them to action any over/underpayment due. They just chose to ignore this, perhaps because they owe me not the other way round!!

Sad, but true.

Hmm. Did you staple your wage-slips to the covering letter?
When dealing with government departments I usually photocopy their last communication on the back of my reply, as well as mentioning in my letter what action I expect as a result of the communication.
This does seem to help the over-worked juniors who open the mail, to keep track of what they're supposed to be doing with it.
I misunderstood - thought you'd just sent in pay slips without a covering letter. Assuming the letter you did send included the relevant references, then one more job you've got in the Jobcentre, Lucky, is to ask for the complaints book:
Set out the trail of events concisely but unemotionally. Include your file reference, both NI numbers, and a sentence about the inconvenience and expense that you've been put to by their department's failings.
Good Luck!0 -
No Robin, I didn't staple everything together, perhaps that was my mistake. I shall know better in future!
Appointment at the Job Centre seems successful so far. The documents were both faxed and emailed over to the right team and we've since had a holding call to say it's all be recieved and passed over to a Team Manager to solve. Hopefully we will get the outcome we want tomorrow. What a faff! I'm calmer now thoughand it doesn't seem quite so bad as it did this morning!
In other, better news - I'm in the 9's!!!!!!:j:T:j

On a completely different note, day 2 of big boy pants and still no wee in the toilet. One dirty accident, one wet accident but otherwise nothing, zip, zilch, nada. He just really isn't getting it
