  • Not a great deal to report today. Been a bit down in the dumps but it's hormonal! Hopefully things will seem more positive tomorrow (except I'll still be skint :p).

MIL had boys for an hour this morning so DH and I could go to the gym. Other than that we've been at home, but not a NSD as gym membership fee was due so that cost £15, and I got a few bits from Mr M's.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far Xx

:grouphug: hope you feel better PLMBL.

Went to the local petting farm with the Stripes clan and later worked so overall a good day.

    Take it easy tomorrow :j
  • Hey Stripes, glad you had a good day yesterday. Hope today brings you more of the same.

Aunt Flo has landed again so slightly more balanced service has resumed :rotfl: and I won £10 on the lottery so that put a smile on my face too!

Today was supposed to nice and sunny so I promised DS2 we could go to the beach. He wants to look for Sandman from the Spiderman film :rotfl:. Unfortunately, it's actually quite cloudy and dull, but a promise is a promise so we are off there shortly. MIL and the dog are coming too and I'm hoping my Auntie and Grandma will meet us at the cafe on the sand as we didn't see them yesterday. (Mum is away for the weekend with her Fiance).

Almost time to do a debt calculation for the month after the last minimum payment goes out this week. My plan to overpay lots this month to ensure we get sub £10k didn't really work out, but I'm still hoping we've done it. Think it will be a good psychological boost when we get in the 9's.

I hope you have a lovely time at the beach. We were their last weekend and it was very cold but I am sure today will be better. It is a much milder day here.

I think a lot of us have found this month difficult to pay off any extra. The holiday has made a difference. You are very close to the 9s. It will make you feel 100 times better to be able to see the finish.

  • Pooh we've had a fab time at the beach thank you. We went to Tynemouth and met my Grandma, 2 Auntie's and my cousin's son. The 3 boys had a great time on the beach which was surprisingly warm as it's quite sheltered. Grandma slipped me a tenner :A but DS2 didn't find Sandman!!! I got parked for free :D so total spends were £4.80 for coffee for DH and MIL. MIL then bought the boys an ice cream each.

Speaking of DS2, he's been in big boy pants all day :j However this isn't as good as it sounds. I ask him regularly if he fancies trying the pants and he always says no, but today he suddenly said he would if I bought him a skylanders figure!!!! I agreed, but the one he wants isn't on sale in shops anymore and is an ebay job, so I explained it would arrive in the post after he'd been in big boy pants for a few days. He happily put the pants on and about an hour later he had a very small accident. I changed him and he's been dry all day since, however that's because he hasn't pee'd ALL DAY!! I sat him on the toilet countless times and even ran the tap to try to make him go but nothing! He just kept asking for his nappy :(. I put a nappy on him for bed because I couldn't not, but I'm worried he will hurt himself by holding it in all day. Then again, I can only presume he was holding it in, but his nappies are never sopping so maybe he just doesn't pee often? He didn't drink much during the day with being on the beach, but he did drink as normal from 4pm onwards and still nothing by 7.30pm.

  • Aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhh!

DWP have me totally wound up!:(

Finally spoke to someone this morning about the fact that my payslips were sent back recorded, but with no covering letter, so I don't know if there will be any over/under payment due. After a Loooooooong conversation it turns out they sent my payslips back to me without actually doing anything with them!! They say they can't now do anything without seeing the payslips (even though they've already seen them!) so I was given the option of either posting them back again or taking them into the job centre so they can be faxed over. This is the same option that I was told didn't exist any more a few weeks ago when I suggested doing it to avoid the inevitable c0ck up they would make like the last two times. I'm not a happy bunny! I now need to drop the boys with MIL (why is it always half term when this happens??!! I don't like taking them in the job centre), use diesel I have precious little of and pay extortionate parking in town using what few pennies I have left. That's without the extra cost on my phone bill for calling them both Friday and today.

The sensible part of me is willing to put up with all this as without the benefit system we'd be screwed. The other part of me is furious that this is the 'service' we receive. If it was a company I was dealing with they'd be long gone and I would tell anyone who listened not to use them. I feel sorry for the decent members of staff who are doing the work of 10 people, but it's no wonder they can't employ more staff when they waste so much money through putting their own mistakes right.

And breathe! I'm off to have a little cry and calm down Xx

Cant you scan & E mail them ? Or would that be just too simple for them !

    Now breathe ... and Smile ... :D
Its just a bad day, Not a bad life ..
  • A member of staff has to see the physical evidence Mara, because all benefit claimants are reported to be lying cheating scum out to swindle the benefits agency out of the millions they need to waste.

See, I'm not bitter at all :p
