Blimey how ridiculous!! My DP has had a beard and moustache for as long as I have known him. If we received that I can imagine what his reply would be and I can't put it on here as this is a family forum.

I would ring the couple and find out why they have requested it and if it is just a bridezilla thing I would inform her that if that is what she wants you will not be there as your OH refuses to shave off his beard for just 1 day.

I'd definitely try to find out why too. But I'd still go. I (or rather my OH!) would just completely ignore the request and go with his (very neat) beard and tash intact.

I'm starting to wonder if this is a joke... it just seems so off-the-wall. How can anyone seriously suggest that men must be clean-shaven at their wedding?

My DH's brothers both have beards and when we were arranging our wedding MIL asked me if I'd tell them they had to shave as they were groomsmen, because she didn't want them to have beards in the photos! :rotfl: I told her no, as I don't care if they have beards or not, and since they normally do have beards, it would be weird if they didn't in the photos!

Why is the term Bridezilla used? Can we not just refer to them as stupid?

I imagine because stupid can be fairly passive, whereas Bridezilla conjures up the full horror of the rampaging bride to be, working so hard to present a perfect image to society, with no idea that the prima donna tantrums are achieving exactly the opposite effect.

    Hi all,

I've just had a wedding invitation saying that men aren't allowed to have facial hair for the wedding!! I though this was really bizarre, but is this something that is normally asked?! I've only been to a couple of weddings so not sure if this is some major tradition or something? personally, I was horrified at the request but maybe i'm just not familar with this request!!

    is this normal?!

RSVP declining the invitation, and add a PS that the bride is not allowed to wear white unless she's a virgin.

Surely facial hair includes eyebrows. So everyone should shave them off and see how they like that!
