Strange Request for a wedding?

Options
Hi all,

I've just had a wedding invitation saying that men aren't allowed to have facial hair for the wedding!! I though this was really bizarre, but is this something that is normally asked?! I've only been to a couple of weddings so not sure if this is some major tradition or something? personally, I was horrified at the request but maybe i'm just not familar with this request!!

is this normal?!

Seriously, if they're not religious, then it sounds like a Bridezilla type thing going on.

  • Moomin, I have heard of some weird requests on wedding invites, but no facial hair? Really? Is this serious? What about men who have had beards for years, are they expected to shave it off? It is asking a bit much really! Are they hiring beard police on the church door?

Or it could be a way of filtering out those that you don't really like but "have" to invite??? lol

I'd have to ask why personally. Unless it's some cultural thing (which it doesn't seem to be) it's an absolutely outrageous request.

  • That's just plain rude IMO.
