My god the relationship you have with your nan is exactly the same as my dd and her nan. This is my mother, and we do not always see eye to eye. However dd and her will listen for hours to Carousel, Oklahoma, and both adore White Christmas.. Both sing along at the same time and my mum always says "they dont make them like this anymore" :) It is a wonderful relationship, and I too loved my nan.. She is no longer with us but I cherish the memories I have of her.

Poo to your dad but it is his life and if he chooses to be selfish there is little you can do. I think you have behaved in a perfectly reasonable manner, I feel desperately sorry for your mum. Any relationships has issues god I have been married 25 yrs this year, however you need to discuss problems. Having an affair will solve nothing, exciting at first, but I bet you tires of the new woman.
Like you I have suffered with depression, unfortunately this resulted in a break down, please do talk.. I bottled it all up. You are doing so well with your moneysaving, but whilst I dont want to patronise you... You are young enjoy life as well... Best wishes.. W :) xx

ps: edit to say my DD is also a red head and she is gorgeous... long red hair is so lovely...

    Hi Bast

Yeah, I love my grandma. She's my dad's adopted mum, and I didn't really know her until I moved to London, but she's a big part of my life now. She does so much for everyone so I try to look after her when I see her :)

And yay to the long red hair! Although I'm thinking about having a massive chop  I've had it long for years, and it's long enough to donate (or sell ;)). I've been thinking about it for a while now, and I need to get new headshots done so it's now or never!!

I sing mostly musical theatre and jazz, so my grandma and I do what your DD and DM do :p

I'm going to get some recordings done over the summer and will post them on here - if I can figure out how :rotfl:

... and I can't really explain it, apart from I'm really tired.

I don't know, now the immediate money issues are sorted, I'm beginning to feel frustrated creatively. I haven't done a show in three months, I'm not getting auditions, I've got writer's block, and I'm just in a major grump tonight.

A lot of my friends are doing really well career-wise at the moment, and that's fantastic and I'm so proud of them. And I would never take that away from them, but I do think "come on, surely there's space for little old me in there somewhere" :o

Anyway, I'm just feeling sorry for myself. I'm sure I'll feel better once I'm not so shattered. Not sure when my next day off is, but I know I can at least have a lie in on Tuesday because I'm not working set hours :j

On the upside, I think I'll have enough money to get some recordings done this month. So, plan of action is as follows:

    • find 3-4 songs to rehearse and record (at mates' rates :money:)
    • get a swanky new hair cut (might try the Vidal Sassoon academy :money:)
    • get new headshots done (there really is no way of getting these on the cheap!)
    • send them off to every casting director and agent in town
    • crack on with learning piano (I've been given loads of tuition books and am trying to teach myself :money:)
Anyhoo, got a really early start at work tomorrow morning and it's going to be a loooong day, but my boss is back :j less stress for me :j:j and I just need to remember my lie in on Tuesday :j:j:j

Hi there, have just read your diary from the beginning and you are doing really well. A few things if i remember them as i was reading that struck me that you might want to do or consider.
+Close your joint account or take your name off, it was just a thought but he could use this and build up the debt again, without you realising.
+ Have you looked into working tax credits as you dont earn a very high amount you might be eligible?
+unfortunately it may be that you have to take a step back from your dad for awhile, which will relieve the stress a little, there isnt much you can do apart from helping your mum cope.
+Rather than pay extra insurance on your grans car, maybe she could come with you to the car boot, help or sit in the sunshine she may enjoy the day out and save you some money.
wishing you luck with the rest of your debts.

Yeah, I think you're right. Mum is hopefully coming up to me for a week soon, so I'll be able to look after hr for a bit :o

    Evening,

I'm off to bed in a bit after a very stressful 13 hour day, but my boss is back :j:j:j which is wonderful, because it will make my life easier.

I blew up and tied so many balloons I've literally rubbed the skin off one of my fingers. It's pretty sore :( There was also a massive non-delivery of loads of things we needed for today so lots of running around this morning trying to find things. On the upside, the party today went really well, and I got another £20 tip :T second one this week. Obviously the money is great, but it also means I'm doing a good job, so I'm doubly happy!!

I was going to stick some things on Ebay this weekend because it's one of the fee-free weekends, but I'll just wait for the next time round, I don't have the energy to do it tonight :o

Ok, I give up, I'm going to bed... zzzzzzzz

    Morning world!

I was going to do some flyering work today for my classes, but when I went into the kitchen this I managed to step on a shard of glass I didn't see when I broke a glass the other day  Foot is pretty sore and still bleeding, so I don't fancy being on my feet all day.

So instead, I have a EPIC to-do list:
    • [STRIKE]finish mystery shop from last night[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]update registers from yesterday's classes[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]renew library books[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]sort out more work over the next month
    • update budget
    • pay bills
    • sort emails - I can't find anything I need so time to file some away!
    • join Quidco
    • book tickets to Peterborough for work this weekend
    • book tickets to go home in July :j:j:j
    • buy domain name for the cabaret website[/STRIKE]
    • create database for website
    • go and see my friend in her show tonight
And then if I get time:
    • hoover
    • clean bathroom
    • clean kitchen
    • washing
    Phew! I'd best get cracking...
