mind when I've asked about price before, they always seem a bit funny about giving that information out. It also seems odd that I can't pick up a leaflet listing the prices from the PO. Might put a complaint in.

How come the lazy gits don't deliver to our business estate till gone midday then?

People like you make me sick with your stupid comments about Posties always delivering late. If your job begins at 9 and ends at 5 do you complete all your work at 9? No, you work through the day.
Just like a Postmans round has a beginning and end. Your business estate is probably at the end of the round! Someone always has to be first and last.

And lazy...well, I am a postman and my round takes me about 4 hours to walk around, and I cover a distance of about 18 miles a day. I don't personally regard myself as lazy thank you very much.

I have visions of ebayers going around buying up as many stamps as possible and then selling them on that site for say 55p each.
    Pumpgate all over again!

the prices vary depending on how you value them, and how you base postage costs vs wages.
also whether you compare basic services eg 2nd class or 1st class etc

  • I'm not fond of the royal mail.

A fortnight ago I paid £1.22 to have delivered a piece of mail that the sender had underpaid 22p postage for due to their clever system of pricing letters. Fair enough, you might say, but they have still failed to deliver it.

Not long ago a postie put a card through my door saying that he couldn't deliver the parcel as I wasn't in and I should collect it from the depot in 24 hrs. I was passing through the hallway at the moment the card dropped onto the doormat so I picked it up and opened the door. The postie was still on the driveway so I asked for the parcel. He rambled a bit until it transpired that he didn't actually have the parcel, he had left it at the depot because he couldn't be bothered to deliver it. Busted.

I had to complain a few years ago to the RM as my post went through a phase of arriving opened. It stopped after I complained.

Then there was the nice lady at the PO (yes I know the PO and the Royal Mail are not the same thing) that pushed the letter I wanted to post through the letter slot on her RM measuring template thing, it went through cleanly but she obviously didn't believe her eyes as she pushed it through the same slot again and again just to make sure.
    1. The house price crash will begin.
    2. There will be a dead cat bounce.
    3. The second leg down will commence.
    4. I will buy your house for a song.

well heres a reference from Jan 2009.

    http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/binaries/post/952.pdf

this is of course before prices went up 25%, so I'd assume the bit about it being half the price of services in europe is probably nonsense.
