When I get round to it, thats probably 60 stamps a month they're going to lose, and I'm sure I can't be the only one.
do you charge your services under costs on those invoices, to keep the customers?0 -
I dont see whats wrong with them limiting supply. They could have been sneaky and brought out a new first class stamp with the new value printed on it and only accept the old at the amount paid.
If say Tescos were about to put the price of something up with they allow people to buy vouchers now at todays prices to take the product at the future price? If only, id buy plenty of petrol vouchers...0 -
Do people still buy stamps?
I only ever seem to post when it's sending eBay parcels. In this day and age sending a letter is bit backwards isnt it? (plus not very 'green')0 -

No I don't. That would be stupid.
But it's not about the rights and wrongs, the simple fact is, that imposing such a large hike in one go is bound to get people thinking about minimising their postage usage.
Volumes will fall. So posties can go back to getting in the pub for midday instead of 1pm. Everyones a winner!0 -

glad to see you understand the issues0 -
You're fighting a losing battle, Custardy. Post Office employees (and their managers) lost public support years ago.

well whining about price rises without a little insight into whats actually going on, is as useful as a 5 year olds tantrum.0 -

It's not really a whine, it's just a statement of fact.
Prices go up by 25% people look for alternatives. I am sure I am not alone on this.
Likely effect of a feedback loop of less post getting sent, more price rises etc.
Only way out I see is to privatise it, and get the unskilled labour down to minimum wage, or somewhere close. I'm afraid the days of jobs for life, pensions schemes etc are gone for manual labour.0
