The problem is that because you initially took their Fake charge seriously they think you are a muggins who will eventually pay if they keep pushing and trying to frighten you by raising the stakes. You have made your position plain, just ignore them from now on, they won't actually do a thing and in the end will just crawl back under their stone.

They will probably turn around and say that you have made a legally and binding commitment to pay now, or junk to that effect, so don't be tempted to back down or respond to their junk responses to you.
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

Anyway, bud, the charge may keep on increasing, but as you won't be paying it and they have no means of recovery, it is pretty academic really. Let them talk to themselves from here on.

    Hammers for promotion? Looking good.

A parking ticket for falling asleep and overstaying in a motorway service area is the owner's way of telling you to drive tired.

Thanks for all the advice guys, I sent an email to CP Plus saying I wasn't liable for their notice as on further investigation I am not liable for the charge as at the time of the alleged offense I wasn't driving, and I'm not at liberty or legally obliged to divulge who was. They responded saying that due to my earlier correspondence admitting the offense, the charge will keep increasing ! The trouble with their arguement is that in my original email I never stated being the driver, I only admitted being responsible for the vehicle and said I would settle the charge (which isn't legally binding!) ! That's the stance I'm taking now and i've made them fully aware of this, so i'm awaiting another letter or email from them that I can probably put to good use instead of loo roll !
OH NO! They will now get Debt Recovery plus to harass you and send you three more begging letters :rotfl:
PPCs say its carpark management, BPA say its raising standards..... we all know its just about raking in the revenue.

I've already looked into them, and they seem an absolute joke too, by past peoples judgements i'll get two increased fines, then a cheaper settlement offer before DR+ get involved. What a shame i'll be out of the country for 6 months soon, they might just have stopped sending me stuff by the time i return !
  • I recieved one of these 'penalty notices' yesterday after spending 3 hours at a Moto services meeting my friend for coffee (it's exactly halfway between our houses so makes sense to use a Costa that's easy to get to). We spent at least £15 in said Costa, chinwagging and putting the world to rights. There are no signs on the slipway into the services, the only 2 signs in the car park ar at the farthest end of the parking area. My friend, who arrived before me hasn't recieved a 'penalty notice'.... that was what first raised my eyebrow. Then I recalled something on Watchdog and through that clip on youtube, found your site.

Thank you so much for all the information here, it's been a godsend in informing me about what action to take with the 'notice'. Consider it filed in misc and ignored.

As another friend put it - Wipe your bum with it and flush it with the vigor it deserves'.

Am spreading the news to all who will listen that it's unenforcable and pile of horse crap.

Make sure your mail is dealt with. Returned mail shows them that if they take you to court, you won't get the court papers and won't show up in court, so they can win the case by default. Unfortunately, the legal system doesn't have draws. They may not come after you for the money, but they can claim this as a court case victory.
