Hi all, new to this forum so please be gentle! :-) Have recently been snapped at a motorway services by these cowboys. Just after midnight, tired, stopped for a rest, ended up staying for almost 4 hrs, now they're demanding money with threats of court action. Is the best approach still to ignore all correspondence? Your thoughts & advice would be much appreciated. Many thanks. . .

Yes, just ignore them. All that will happen is that you get a few asinine letters after which they will realise you are one of the canny ones that knows it is a scam, whereupon they will stop wasting money writing.
Take no notice of their threats; if you ignore everything they won't have any way of knowing who the driver of the car was anyway. Ignore any rubbish that suggests the registered keeper has to tell them who was driving- all total bull.0 -
Yes just ignore them.
If you haven't read the sticky thread (second from top of this parking forum) called 'PPC letter & threats' then that should help you to make your mind up. Watch the Watchdog clip on there (featuring a fake PCN with a pretty pic of a car on it too) and use the thread to give you a preview of each letter from the pictures shown there.
See my signature, the forum view with stickies at the top is just a click away.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

They want your money, pure and simple, and if they have to get into bed with a bunch of scamming shysters to get it they will...0 -
Look out! The guy from CP Plus is coming, he's going to ticket it, as parking upside down infringes Rule 58 (D) as is clearly stated on their signs!0

You will get 3 begging letters off cp Plus then if ignored they pass it onto Drp (Debt recovery plus, another 3 of them Ghoonz and thats it Case closed, there letters come in so handy if you have a hampster pet as they can be shredded to make a lovely warm bed, also they come in handy if you have a wobbly table
PPCs say its carpark management, BPA say its raising standards..... we all know its just about raking in the revenue. :eek:0 -
Wonder if they have now stopped using someone else's VAT number ? Will have to post up the reply I got from the DVLA about that, will have to dig it outExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
You mean they actually HAVE a VAT number?
They were using MOTO's VAT number as I mentioned on this thread, they have only been doing it for at least 2 years, the BPAs view was an administration error, I mean for 2 years! Couldn't make it up honestly.
