It's pretty self explanatory - you've quoted it yourself. No pass = extension.

m not a troll and no nobody answered why they put this policy there.

The policy is there to cover their backs. As already said.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

Yes.. .by those it is there to keep inline. Those who make it can pretty much do as they please with it. Besides, as the POLICY has already said, you can have your probation extended. Now you're trying to make an issue out of that too even though that would be following their own policy you're now trying to suggest that they would not be following it? Why?

Are you really that desperate for mental health help?

    Brett,

Anxiety is horrible. I suffer with it too. And unfortunately it spirals things out of proportion. I really think you are worrying completely unnecessarily about the policy. It is there to make sure that people perform satisfactorily in their first 6 months and if not, they will be sacked. If, as you say, you have been performing satisfactorily and get on well with your manager, then passing probation should be a formality. And two weeks is plenty of time to get it signed off but if it goes over for a little while it won't be a big deal. You only need worry about it if you haven't been performing.

I can understand why assessments make you anxious. They make me very anxious too - boiling down to a low self-esteem, which I'm working on. And if you've had work problems before, then I can understand that this adds to the anxiety. There's no need to jump to the worst case conclusion.

I would suggest finding some better support for your anxiety rather than this specific probation issue. MSE isn't really the right forum for mental health support, unfortunately. There are plenty of others out there (https://www.nomorepanic.co.uk for example) or the Samaritans are good, either phone or email. Or have you considered counselling?

It sounds like you're doing a good job. Keep going and good luck.

With respect, Brett, nobody on here gets called a troll just for being anxious. The reason some people think you may be a troll is because you keep posting the same question despite many people already answering it.

I hope that the nomorepanic website is of some use.

Most of the time HR haven't got a clue who you even are. You're just a name and payroll number to them.

I honestly wouldn't worry about it. Most HR departments are just full of zombie workers like every other dept with a supervisor and manager to run it. It's the managers in the other departments that make decisions and tell HR what to do with you etc.

Most HR departments are pretty useless IMO and I've had run-ins with enough of them. There does seem to be this common understanding though that HR watch people like some sort of intelligence service and in reality they're the total opposite - office based administrators paid to shuffle bits of paper around.

I am a rare breed of HR worker who doesn't look at employee's as a name and a number. HR staff are also EMPLOYEE'S themselves. Shocking I know.

HR have a tough time usually because line managers won't listen or be open to advice. Hence empoyee's suffering. This is a very narrow minded opinion of HR and I would recommend that you do some work shadowing in an HR department before critising openly on this forum.

I wonder why you have had run in's with enough of them???
