Really stressful situation can't sleep. HELP

I have a good job and I am really enjoying it. Now I am a 6 month probation to which I have 18 more days to go there is assesments for this but my manager just kept saying "don't worry if it isn't done in 6 month I will just extend it."

I just read HR policy online and apprently they can dismiss if you don't do the probhation in time but if I go in stressing on friday my manager will tell me I am over panicing and that "Don't worry it's not like HR constantly look at you file every day to see when ur period is over". I have done most things on the probhation but my manager is so busy she doesn;'t have much time to spend an hour with me to go through supervision.

In you guys opinion do HR departments watch you everyday?

Please help my anxiety is flaring.

Most of the time HR haven't got a clue who you even are. You're just a name and payroll number to them.

I honestly wouldn't worry about it. Most HR departments are just full of zombie workers like every other dept with a supervisor and manager to run it. It's the managers in the other departments that make decisions and tell HR what to do with you etc.

Most HR departments are pretty useless IMO and I've had run-ins with enough of them. There does seem to be this common understanding though that HR watch people like some sort of intelligence service and in reality they're the total opposite - office based administrators paid to shuffle bits of paper around.

My line manager said it is up to her if she keeps me on not HR. But on the HR website (HR being the head obviously) said if an employee fails to mee the probhation requirments in time they will be dismissed.

Do you think it is unlikley that in 18 days I will get a meeting ?

I think your boss is on a powertrip and stringing you along if I'm honest. I've been there before and been through worse.. crashing through and eventually being passed. There are some real power hungry d!cks in management jobs.

If I were you I'd start floating rumours that you're off to pastures new - either seeking a job or successfully accepted at one (though if its the latter be sure you actually have one as a backup). This may well cause what I call 'incompetant management panic syndrome' (imps) where they suddenly do anything they can to keep you sweet rather than take the forfeit.

Also remove the company name from your post ASAP before google picks it up and caches it.

although in saying this there are two things valid to both points.

    1) There soon there when someone has too much time off sick, so they must be watching somewhere

    2) There online written policies arn't always correct. I mean it says for nottinghamshire our pay is 13,277 and it is 11,278 and only 10p/hr more with nvq

They may well notice - they may have computerised systems that will bring your fie to their attention however they'll just go with whatever your manager says normally whatever that may be.

Ok but it will be too late now google catch's it instantly. So do HR departments watch u or not? I would hate to be sacked.

I would rather just ride it out for a year tbf and forget their was a probation coz after a year its too late

As above HR dont watch everyone everyday, if you are worried why not email your boss reminding her once last time that your assesment is due, that way if you are questioned about it you can go hey hang on, look ive asked.
Anyway it must be your managers responsability to ensure it gets done in time not yours so she should be the one to take any rap.
